Who is Errin?
I started treatment for an eating disorder in May of 2018. In the process of my recovery thus far, I've discovered a passion for hand-lettering, drawing, and painting.
As a part of my therapy, I've taken up a daily journaling practice. Early on in treatment, after I had discovered this love of creativity, I went looking for a journal that would enable me to practice writing my thoughts and feelings out and also allow me to be creative. I needed a tool that had both lined pages and blank pages. Not only that, knowing how therapeutic coloring is, and having experienced some days that were too difficult to express myself, I hoped for a journal that included some illustrations for me to colour.
Guess what I found?
NOTHING! There wasn't such a thing on the market.
Recovery Reflections Journal
What I've created will enable others to benefit from creativity and expression the way that I have.
The Recovery Reflections Journal is a one month journal with 62 black and white pages. There are 2 pages for each day of the month, and on each day you get space to record gratitude, accomplishments and set some goals for the day. In addition, there is space to record feelings and thoughts.
You'll see that there is also an original illustration for you to colour each day. These illustrations were inspired by the images that emerged on the pages in my own journal, as well as by the people and the world around me.
On the second page each day, you will find blank space for you to get creative in whatever way helps you to connect to your journaling practice, to your healing, and to yourself.
It's a place to let yourself freely express the challenges and triumphs or the positive and negative experiences that you tend to keep locked up and swirling in your mind.
Who is this journal for?
- those recovering from eating disorders
- those recovering from addiction
- those recovering from PTSD
- any creative wanting to develop a daily journaling habit

Risks and challenges
With so much of the project ready for submission to the publisher, and the publishing firm selected, the plans I have in place should limit the trouble with completing this project on time. However, this is my first Kickstarter campaign and first publishing project. Realistically, with my limited knowledge of both, it is logical to expect that issues may arise. The best I can do is promise to keep you up to date with any hiccups that might come up.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
