I made this lo-if music video for "Old Town" using my iPhone. Wouldn't you love to hear this song professionally recorded and produced?! I am an Americana singer-songwriter from Tulsa, OK. My first single, "Robin's Egg Blue," won the Searchlight Songwriting Competition hosted by Jason Wilbur, lead guitarist for John Prine. Four years later, I am finally releasing my long awaited debut album, Old Town. My music is influenced heavily by Psychedelic Folk, Classic Country, and American Roots Music, and a some of my favorite artists and top influences are Neil Young, Emmylou Harris, Gram Parsons, Bob Dylan, Loretta Lynn, and Leadbelly.
Named after the meaning of the word Tulsa in the Creek (Mvskoke) language, the album examines my life experiences in my hometown away from my other hometown (my first being Tampa, Florida), and the belief that a place is inseparable from its past. Old Town explores complete loss, past life recollections, and starting over. It follows heartbreak to the bitter end, when love is as fickle as it is everlasting. As vision-inducing as Old Town is, it is also honest. It seeks to tell stories rather than to seduce, but does both in the end. From the haunting "Wewoka" to the honky-tonkin' "Trick Pony," my album seeks to take you on a journey of space and time where your heart and mind end up aligned. I hope you'll come along!
Old Town will be produced by Travis Linville, Rolling Stone acclaimed singer-songwriter and longtime guitarist for Hayes Carll. Linville will be providing much of the instrumentation on the album, including dobro, mandolin, and steel guitar. He also produced Grammy nominated John Fullbright's first album, who will be playing keys on my record, along with Tulsa favorites Stephen Lee on electric guitar, Paul Wilkes on upright bass, and Jake Lynn on the drums. The album will also include several other wonderful musicians and very special guests. The recording process will be finished May 7-10 at a pop up studio in Linville's apartment and also at Ben Kilgore's home studio.
I am currently on a tour of New York City, Toronto, and Ottawa. This year (so far), I'll be playing Folk Alliance International, Norman Music Festival, Mayfest, MisFest, Sunfest, G-Fest, and the Woody Guthrie Folk Festival. Keep an eye on the Kickstarter for updates on my Northeastern Tour and live videos of the recording process!
The planned released date for the album is August of 2017 on Horton Records. About half of the funds raised will cover production costs and studio time. The other half will go to CD design and reproduction, paying musicians for their work, covering merch and artwork costs, Kickstarter fees, and publicity expenses. Help us make this dream a reality!

Risks and challenges
Music is my full time job. I intend to put every ounce of my soul into this project, just like I have put into the songs! Part of what makes it so special to me is how long I have waited to do this. Many of you know that I went through some incredible life challenges over the past several years. My strength and determination has only grown thanks to the difficulty I experienced. The record was put on hold several times and now it has finally found it's time to shine. I truly believe in the message I have to share with the world and I would more than appreciate your support! As a financial backer, you are every bit as a part of this project as I am. Let's make this happen!
P.S. I really look forward to hand-making many of the rewards with love! My experience in art school and beyond has taught me the skills necessary to make this happen. The Tulsa City County Library offers invaluable resources for this project and I plan to take full advantage of that. I was happy to put my experience in video production into producing the DIY promotional music video for this project. I hope you enjoy!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
