Dreamy Weather is an enchanted recording by singer Erin Ivey and special guests, captured at the historic Cactus Cafe in Austin, Texas.
GOAL UPDATE: YOU ARE AWESOME! We are in the home stretch and blew through our goals. Additional pledges will fund a series of music videos to promote the album AND pay an additional honorarium to the other musicians on the recording, so well deserved. HOW COOL IS THAT!? THANK YOU!!!
Dear friends, old and new,
Earlier this year, we recorded a sparkling, intimate performance at one of Austin's most beloved venues: The Cactus Cafe, since 1979, all heavy red curtains and dark wood, dim lights and swaying shoulder-to-shoulder, "from which careers can be cut" (Billboard Magazine).
This recording features brand new material mingled with songs from earlier albums, played as never before, with RyDogg Johnson's crystalline electric guitar and a bewitching vocal performance by special guest BettySoo.
Right now, making this beautiful live recording into a full-length album is just a twinkle in my eye. Its existence truly depends on your interest and support. Please partner with me in this Kickstarter campaign so Dreamy Weather can have a proper release!
Your contribution will go directly to mixing, mastering, graphic design, duplication, song licensing (a shimmering cover of Tom Waits' "Alice" opens the recording), promotion, distribution, and a little extra for postage as the new CD and other goodies wing their way to you with my HUGE THANKS!
Let's make some good music and your days more dreamy!!
- Alice (by Tom Waits)
- Chocolate (old song, brand new feel, so good)
- Rest Your Head (with Betty Soo)
- Sorrow No More
- Oh, Light
- Whisper of the Moon

I recommend an old vine red Zinfandel.
When I play solo shows, I am often asked if my last album, Broken Gold, sounds like what I just played. While it is a wonderful album and a great collaboration between folk singer me and R&B/dub organ trio The Finest Kind, it is a full-band studio album. This new album, Dreamy Weather - Live at the Cactus Cafe, will sound like what you hear at a solo show, but with the added magic of RyDogg Johnson on electric guitar and BettySoo singing with me on a beautiful new lullaby. It is so delicious!
