Hello friends, my name is Erin Condo and I am a mother, wife, songwriter, rocker, caterer, community organizer, choir leader, and member of Erin Condo & the Hoofties.
I've started this Kickstarter campaign to raise funding for my second album, "Love & Lightning," which will feature 12 original songs written by me and arranged by my band the Hoofties.
This cd is almost 10 years in the making (10 years!). After many false starts, living in many cool cities, playing with many amazing people, and writing all kinds of songs along the way, I am finally ready to go back in to the studio.
I have come full circle to find the right fit with producer/music partner Bill Wilgus ("Wiggus") and engineer Bob Klotz, who were at the helm for my debut album “Leaving Songs.” We spent the summer of 2004 recoding "Leaving Songs" and had such a memorable time that we’re very eager to do it again.
Not only do I put my trust in Bob & Wiggus, but I have this amazing band called the Hoofties that includes Wiggus on guitar, John Kennedy on bass, and Kevin Lowe on drums. My God! These guys are good! We’ve been playing around central PA for 2 years getting ready for this record.
Love & Lightning features 12 original songs that chronicle my journey to find home and love (and lightning) over the last 10 years. These songs tell stories of cheating hotel owners, runaways, hard working men, even harder working women, and trouble, trouble, trouble, all on a diverse musical backdrop that flows from blues to rock to soul to swing to country to folk influences.
We are chomping at the bit to get started, but we need your help! And we are excited to get you involved in the making of this record, which promises to be a truly magical music making experience. We are asking for help to cover the costs of recording and printing. Any money raised over our goal will be dedicated to promotions and publicity and paying our very talented musicians.
Thank you so much for your support! Even if you can't give financial support to this campaign, you can still help out by spreading the word about this project! We are so grateful for anything you can do!

Risks and challenges
One of the biggest challenges to recording is planning an end date. I've gotten some great advice in the past: "Don't plan your cd release party until you have your cd in hand." There is always the risk that the project might not physically be in hand by the fall of 2013, but we'll be working awfully hard to meet that deadline.
As I've mentioned before, this band has been working on this album for 2 years already! We are rehearsed and prepared and hope to make the best use of our time in the studio with Bob, so we should be done in good time.
Again, we need your help to get started and make sure that this album is a success!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
