Welcome to our Kickstarter page!
Cabooses in the Corner is the 2-6 player train building card game that is fun for all ages. This game has quickly become the perfect card game that creates instant quality time by bringing family & friends together in a lighthearted challenge. The game is educational through numbers and colors but it isn't just a children's game. The train theme is enjoyable for all players and great for gift giving, especially holiday gifts!
Game enthusiasts since childhood, we're both from families that love playing tabletop games. Back in 2016 while having breakfast at Golden Hill Café and brainstorming about bringing this idea to life, we never imagined we would come this far and create such an entertaining card game. Designing this game together has been a labor of love and grown our bond as friends and confidants.
We've chosen to use the Kickstarter platform to achieve three goals with your help:
- File LLC paperwork and pay all of the applicable fees so that we can operate a legal and legitimate business. (WA Filing Fee: $200 Annual: $60)
- Raise the funds for a GS1 barcode for our game so that it can be for sale in retailers across the nation. (Initial Fee: $250 Annual: $50)
- Place a bulk order and provide you and many others a less expensive option for purchasing Cabooses in the Corner. This also gives us the flexibility to donate games to the teachers we know and to hospitals for inpatient use. (Minimum: $1,900)

Playing Cabooses in the Corner:
Build trains from Caboose to Engine by matching color and playing lower numbered train cars on railway piles, first player to play all of their cards wins! This card game is based on the Solitaire type game mechanic of descending numbers but does not use a standard deck of playing cards, it uses a unique deck of 72 train cards.
There are three colors of trains: blue, red, and white; each train includes cars numbered from 7 to 1 (the engine).
There are also seven purple Cabooses (numbered 8 – they match any train) and two orange Broken Cabooses (letter B - a blocking card), plus a rule book which doubles as game board (if desired).
During setup, the players are each dealt seven cards, then four cards are laid faceup in a cross shape (N, E, S, W) creating railway piles, with the remaining deck of cards placed in the middle of the cross.
On your turn you must draw a card first, then you may do any of the following if you can:
- Play the next lower card of the same color on any railway pile (a blue 5 is played on a blue 6), play a Caboose or Broken Caboose in an empty corner
- Move any sequence of cards onto another pile that continues the sequence
- Play any blue, red, or white train card on a vacated railway pile
- Remove any complete train (sequence 8-1) from the play area
Players take turns and play cards building trains until one player runs out of cards. The play time per game is about 15 minutes.

Risks and challenges
Establishing Rewards that are appealing and Pledge amounts adequate to cover all shipping and supply costs has been a challenge and could create risk, but we feel we have provided our customers, stateside (FREE SHIPPING) and abroad, a fair system.
Also, choosing which content to share on this Kickstarter page without overloading our viewers has been a struggle. We hope you'll visit our social media links to see the photos and read the reviews others have shared with us of their great experiences playing Cabooses in the Corner.
Lastly, to avoid not fulfilling our deadline, we've set enough time aside for potential delays in production and shipping that we feel there will be no trouble in meeting our December 2018 goal.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
