Evidently the Book is being edited as we speak. There was just a post on the Heinlein facebook just saying that much. An update would be special but...

    2. Joseph Capdepon II on

      To Retired Marine,

No. I will not be patient.

It has been much too long, with no information coming from Eric as to what is happening.

      From Kickstarter itself:

Is a creator legally obligated to fulfill the promises of their project?

Yes. Kickstarter's Terms of Use require creators to fulfill all rewards of their project or refund any backer whose reward they do not or cannot fulfill. (This is what creators see before they launch.) We crafted these terms to create a legal requirement for creators to follow through on their projects, and to give backers a recourse if they don't. We hope that backers will consider using this provision only in cases where they feel that a creator has not made a good faith effort to complete the project and fulfill.

So either we get a finished product very soon, or we get a refund of the money we spent. Which will it be?

Perhaps we should contact the people in charge of Heinlein's estate as to what is going on with this, since Eric had to have direct permission from them to move forward with this graphic novel, just as he did on the other, as see what they think about this.

Either way, there needs to be accountability for if the backers are ever going to get the product we paid for, or if we will get a refund for the amount we were charged for a product that may never be delivered.

    3. Retired Marine

To Joseph et. al. Wr did not purchase a product. We gave money to help a dreamer create something. Yes, he "promised" something for our money but, according to kickstarter, much like loaning money in the real world, nothing is guaranteed. I am disappointed on many levels, Heinleins works deserve more respect, at the very least. However, all we can do is wait Seeing a lawyer may ease your mind but honestly nothing good will come of throwing good money after bad. Be extra patient and wait for fullness.

    4. Joseph Capdepon II on

Are we ever going to see a finished product?

At what point do we seek recompense for the money we paid for said product?

An update any time now would be awesome. We've been pretty patient about this and will continue to do so, as long as we get some updates. After all this project is what only a year overdue. I get it that you've had to go through some tough events. We get that. But we are your supporters, backers and fans. Don't you think we deserve some respect too?

    6. Retired Marine

      Any Progress?

      Angelique on

      Any updates? Thanks.

    8. Netobvious

Is this one of those dead projects on Kickstarter that never gets completed? Hope not. It will be sad to see Robert A. Heinlein's name linked to such without him being alive to save his brand.

    9. Joseph Capdepon II on

Let's see....the last update we had was in December.

Since that point, no contact, no updates, no answers to questions.

Really would like to know what is happening and if I, or anyone who pledged money will ever get the product we paid for.

If not, it would be nice if we could get our money back.

I will say, this is the last time I ever back a project created by Eric, or if it has any ties to Eric.

I'm starting to wonder if there is a way we can contact Kickstarter to see what steps need to be taken on getting answers to the questions we have.

A refund or the product promised.

      Which will it be?

    10. Tina Klassen

Just wondering how are the last chapters going? Any more sneak previews of the art? The mother-thing from the last update was completely adorable. Thanks

    11. Joseph Capdepon II on

      Still waiting on an update.

      Will we get an update?

      Is an update forthcoming?

Can we expect a graphic novel?

      Can we expect refunds?

Is Eric even checking the Kickstarter or just ignoring the comments?

    12. Joseph Capdepon II on

We are rapidly approaching two years since this was funded.

      What is the status?

Anything? Anything at all? Any comment? Are we ever going to see the product we paid for? Any of it?

Or do we all need to start trying to figure out how to get our money back?

Eric or whomever really needs to respond to the queries and give an update.

    13. Missing avatar

A new update would be appreciated. Thanks.

    14. Retired Marine

So, It has been almost 2 more months since the last update. Any word yet?

    15. Keith Glass on

And to add to my friend Joseph's comments, it tells me that this is likely the LAST Heinlein graphic novel, at least under the helm of this team. Massive delays BEFORE the crisis of Harvey do not give any level of confidence in the ability of this team to deliver as promised. . .

    16. Joseph Capdepon II on

Is there any word on if this is going to happen or not?

I'd like to know if I am going to get the product I back, or if I should start demanding a refund for my money.

I understand that Harvey was a bad deal. I live in Houston as well.

I paid a nice sum of money for a product that was promised 11 months ago. I've been okay with delays, but still no product.

No word from Eric or anyone associated with this about the status of this project.

I understand that it is the Christmas season.

The people who backed this project really would like answers as to if we are ever going to get the product we paid for, or if we are going to have to seek refunds, by whatever means that may be, for the product we were promised because at this point, it is looking like it will not be delivered.

      Angelique on

Just hoping for an update, it was mentioned sometime around Thanksgiving and we're now into December.

    18. Andrew Knipe

      Hi Eric,
We’re into December now, and hopefully you have recovered from all the problems.
How are you doing with the book ? I accept that you are well behind, but it would be good if we had an update on progress.

    19. Missing avatar

      F Jones on

I look forward to the book when you are able to complete it.

    20. Francis Chen on

My apologies for my mean spirited comments.

    21. Francis Chen on

I guess I’m screwed out of my money. Enjoy the cash you all ripped me off of! Ta ta

      Robert Harrold on

Please keep in mind at this point that these folks are sitting in the middle of the Harvey flooding. I haven't driven by to see what their status is physically (It would be a 7+ hour round trip, though normally it would be less than an hour each direction), but significant parts of Houston are still impassable and they may have had flooding.

    23. Missing avatar

      Angelique on

Yes still haven't received mine yet, although it says most have been sent out?

    24. Andrew Knipe

Almost September! Is there anything you can tell us about when the book will be ready ?

    25. Joseph Capdepon II on

The newest update says you have sent things out for the reward levels, but I have yet to receive anything.

    26. Retired Marine

5 Months of silence is getting a bit much, perhaps just a word or two on progress, perhaps a picture or two of the artist in work? Some news and any news is better than this silence.

    27. Joseph Capdepon II on

      So, any update?

Will I ever receive anything from my pledge?

    28. Tina Klassen

Just wondering if there is an update on this, is everything running smoothly for a Fall 2017 release?

    29. Netobvious

Yes, this is become one of those Kickstarters of concern. I have also moved address and the creators have not acknowledged the message. Total silence.

"Have spacesuit, will abscond" should be the name of the comic book.

    30. Francis Chen on

      Still nothing.

    31. Francis Chen on

      Still no information

    32. Missing avatar

      Robert Harrold on

Nah, these are good folks and will likely deliver the product. Getting something published is not always a smooth process and graphic novels can be challenging. On a Side note, Eric, if you are not using a fulfilment center to directly ship, please just let me know when mine arrives and I'll drive down again to pick it up like last time. Thanks!

    33. James E on

      Looking like vaporware, again.

    34. Francis Chen on

I have not received a survey.

    35. Joseph Capdepon II on

What is the status of the project?

    36. Scott Austin

Have you sent out surveys for this yet?

    37. Keith Glass on

We still on track for this month ??

    38. Christopher Greenstein on

Also hoping for an update in the near future. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

    39. Alan Coffman on

Any updates? It's been a while.

    40. Tina Klassen

Haven't seen an update on this one for awhile. Hope that means everything's running on schedule? I'm super excited about this one :)

    41. Edward Beale on

A really nice project. I know what it takes to send out rewards to dozens and dozens and dozens of backers, so take it slow and easy. My backers supported me through almost 3 years of development, travel, illness, moving, and any other trial you could imagine short of a flood. In the end the product was FANTASTIC and everyone ended up very happy. The two main things are 1) communicate and 2) keep moving. Can't wait to see more.

    42. Francis Chen on

Everything looks great! Is it possible to add to the pledge to get a patch, too? I think $50 more?

    43. Scott Mitchell Rosenberg/PlatinumStudios

      Looks good.
From Scott Rosenberg, of Platinum Studios.

      F Jones on

I would love to see an add on for the patch. I also prefer to see Glory Road.

    45. Russell Sparks on

Don't have a twitter account, but I would definitely love to see Star Beast done as the next graphic novel!

    46. Jeff Paul on

So, is there a way to pledge for all three books?

    47. Missing avatar

      Elizabeth Pugliese on

So enjoyed meeting you at Escape Velocity. Looking forward to the finished project.
