The money raised by Kickstarter will help cover costs for:

for the 1st annual "El Paso Transnational Trolley Thanksgiving Poster Day for Border-Crossing & Unity".
A special Thanksgiving weekend meet and greet with one of the new El Paso Transnational Trolley Conductors
With the permission of various property owners in Downtown El Paso, I am adhering posters as small as 36x54 inches to over 20ft high on various buildings. These posters not only promote a yet to be built transnational trolley, but promote the idea of border crossing between El Paso,Tx. & Juarez, Mex. at a time where violence in Juarez has made that once common activity nearly impossible.
Hi, my name is Peter and I'm a visual artist and photographer. Although I have lived in New York City for the last 6 years, I was born and raised in El Paso and have many fond memories of the area which raised me. One of these was crossing the border to Juarez, Mexico. during the day or at night to party with friends in high school. This border-crossing went the other way with Mexican day shoppers coming to downtown to spend their hard-earned money.
With the cartel violence of the last few years in El Paso's sister city, Juarez, most of this border-crossing has stopped and the people and businesses of the Border Area are suffering.
I'm looking to raise funds to help cover the costs associated with an awareness-raising Poster Campaign for border-crossing and the El Paso Transnational Trolley, the ultimate vehicle for safe & dependable border-crossing. Although the trolley existed once and could exist again, with my project it is only a symbol for a positive future shared between both cities and peoples.
I'm not looking to ignore the present situation but rather to give hope and inspiration that a future more positive than the present could develop. As an artist my role is to inspire and imagine.
