ATLANTIS WASN'T BUILT FOR TOURISTS - a graphic novel
Lovecraft meets Leone in this sort-of sequel to "Shadow Over Innsmouth" from Eric Palicki (NO ANGEL) and Wendell Cavalcanti (BLACKACRE)
This project will only be funded if it reaches its goal by Fri, August 31 2018 4:03 PM UTC +00:00.
Atlantis Wasn't Built for Tourists tells the story of Lucas Lewis, a drifter who stumbles upon a small town in Atlantis County, Oregon and its corrupt sheriff who uses the threat of monsters living in the surrounding countryside to maintain law and order. Lucas becomes determined to free the town from both the sheriff and the creatures in the woods while also coming to terms with his own supernatural heritage.
Mirroring H.P. Lovecraft's "Shadow Over Innsmouth," Atlantis Wasn't Built for Tourists is the tale of a town in thrall to a peculiar evil. However, unlike the earlier story, our villains are made, not predestined, and often hide behind the badge of authority.
A 96-page graphic novel, complete unto itself, Atlantis Wasn't Built for Tourists is written by Eric Palicki (Fake Empire, No Angel), illustrated by Wendell Cavalcanti (BlackAcre), colored by Mark Dale (GWAR: Orgasmaggedon), and featuring front and back cover art by Caspar Wijngaard (Angelic) and Natasha Alterici (Heathen), respectively.
The Kickstarter video features the song "All Fall Down" by Consuelo's Revenge.
All backers will have their names printed in the "Thank You" section of the book! Digital and physical tiers are available, and all digital copies of Atlantis Wasn't Built for Tourists will be DRM-free. Physical copies will be autographed by the writer.
I'm happy to report that art and colors are complete, which allows us to run this campaign with a modest goal to pay for printing, shipping, and Kickstarter fees, with enough funds left over to pay our letterer.
