Enspira Online is a non-violent Massively Multiplayer Online (MMO) adventure game that was conceived a year ago and has recently been in active Internal Alpha Testing since May 2013.
As of September 2, 2013, a complete, playable version of the game is available for everyone to download and play! All core gameplay is completely playable with a dedicated server cluster and a Windows game client, installer and patching system.
Your financial support is needed to facilitate Closed Beta in order to scale, test, balance and enhance the game to get it polished and ready for everyone to play.

The Creator of Enspira Online
Enspira Online is designed and developed by 20-year veteran MMO game developer, Kirk "Runesabre" Black. He is known for his past development on Ultima Online, League of Legends, Lord of the Rings Online, Dungeon and Dragons Online, Star Wars Galaxies, Tiny Toon Adventures, Tabula Rasa and Family Time! Adventures. His expertise is in engineering, design, production and operations of large-scale, real-time persistent entertainment services.
The story of Enspira began centuries ago during a time when industrious garden Gnomes used their powerful ancient magic to grow and harvest magnificent gardens. One day, fearsome spiders invaded the gardens and took the Gnomes captive and are holding them in an unknown location. Since then the amazing gardens have lain untended and practically dead to the casual observer.
Your challenge as a member of the Enspira community is to learn how to revive and properly tend the gardens in the Gnomes' absence. The secrets to finding the captured Gnomes lie hidden within their gardens. Fortunately, their powerful knowledge was written down and preserved in magic books. You will earn the privilege of learning more of their ancient ways as you master the art of tending their gardens. Be warned! It can be quite challenging at times and require all the strategy, brains, and courage you can muster. But the rewards and the journey are sure to be satisfying and fulfilling.
In order to be successful with this challenging opportunity, you will need to learn their ancient magic from the books they left behind, expand your mind, body and spirit by eating the harvest you grow in their gardens, and discover the courage within you as you confront the spiders that will attempt to thwart you along the way. In doing so, you will unlock clues as to the Gnomes' whereabouts and go on an epic adventure to Free the Gnomes!
You will get to explore the world of Enspira in your own boat and interact with everyone in the community. You will earn coins as a reward for tending the gardens which you can use to claim your own personal island within the Enspira community, an island you can completely construct and customize from the ground up for all to see!
You will also earn Star Charms and Clover Tokens as special achievement rewards to commemorate your progress as you become increasingly better at growing and harvesting the Gnome gardens.
These special rewards can be used to multiply the future coins you earn from tending the gardens and help you buy more building materials to construct your island, buy more magic books to become even more powerful and increase the harvest from your gardens which you can invest further in your mind, body or spirit.

Enspira Online strives to bring non-violent, safe, fun and enlightening entertainment to everyone globally. The long-term goal is to build a Global Community of players all playing together in a fun, inspiring activity regardless of differences in age, gender, culture, race, political alignment, or religion using Enspira Online as a foundation.
Business Model (a.k.a. Paying the Bills)
Enspira Online is free to play with an option to spend real money to buy Star Charms. Star Charms give the player an option to increase their in-game rewards (coins and harvested food) when they successfully complete an adventure challenge. At NO TIME can a player trivialize or complete the adventure challenges simply by spending money. You can not pay to win Enspira Online. Furthermore, the player will NEVER be artificially forced to spend money to enjoy and play the game.
Star Charms can also be earned in-game as a reward for special achievements when successfully completing adventure challenges. This means anything that can be acquired using Star Charms can be done so either by playing the game normally or buying Star Charms with real money. The game is designed to be enjoyable without ever feeling forced to spend money in order to have fun.
In the future, players will be able to use Star Charms (bought or earned) to acquire more characters, boats, homes, island decorations and pets.
A unique social activity feature involving Clover Tokens will be implemented when funding and time permits. Clover Tokens are another form of special reward that is earned for special achievements when successfully completing adventure challenges and will be used to exchange for Star Charms.
For those individuals who wish to help other players in the Enspira community, they will be able to exchange their Star Charms (earned or purchased) with players who have Clover Tokens. Players with the Clover Tokens will acquire Star Charms that they can use however they wish as if they had earned or purchased the Star Charms themselves. Players who originally gave away their Star Charms will immediately be granted in-game coins and extra food.
Current Development Status
The underlying technology that powers Enspira Online was started as far back as 2005 and has been steadily built up over the past several years into a solid platform.
Production of Enspira Online commenced in August of 2012 using that established technology base coupled with artwork created by Daniel Cook at Lost Garden and has recently been in active Internal Alpha testing since May 2013. The game service has a dedicated server cluster, installer and patching system and is currently being played on a regular basis by a small dedicated group of friends and family using the Windows game client.
While the game is currently playable on all varieties of Windows platforms (Windows XP/Vista/7/8), it was designed and developed from the beginning to be cross-platform for all desktop, tablet and mobile platforms thanks to the Allegro game development toolkit. Future development is planned to create native distributions of the game client for iPhone, Android, iPad, Mac, Linux and OUYA platforms as soon as Closed Beta is finished and financing and time is available.
Enspira Online is fundamentally an MMO (Massively Multiplayer Online game) which means it is substantially more complex to develop than a typical game and requires many people to help test in order to get the service ready for everyone.
Your funding support will be used to facilitate the Closed Beta development phase of Enspira Online where many players are invited to play and help uncover technical and game issues that weren't obvious when only a handful of players were playing the game during Internal Alpha testing. Additionally, Closed Beta players will also be able to give feedback and influence the final development of the game to help make it a better experience.
Closed Beta is expected to start October 29, 2013 and last for 6 months with a tight focus on accomplishing the following:

- Game client compatibility
- Game server stability
- Game server scalability
- Game play debugging
- Game play balancing
- New Player tutorials
- Service, Operation and Support Tools
The current funding target goal will allow Enspira Online to finalize and polish its core game and service experience and make it available for everyone.
The following is a list of important features that have already been planned, designed and waiting to be implemented when time and funding are available. They are not absolutely required as part of the minimum core game functionality and will not be a part of the Closed Beta focus, but, are important to fulfilling Enspira Online's long-term Vision of Connecting People through Inspiring Interactive Entertainment.
Additional funding raised beyond the Closed Beta target funding goal will be applied to the following after Closed Beta is achieved and the game is available to everyone (with cost and time estimations included):

- iPhone, iPad, Android and OUYA Game client (~$24,000, 8 months)
- Cooperative Adventures to play with friends and family (~$9,000, 3 months)
- Singles and Team Competitive Adventures (~$9,000, 3 months)
- Community Activities that meaningfully engage all players regardless of age, culture or language (~$9,000, 3 months)
- Customizable Player Characters with custom voice packs, homes and sailing ships (~$9,000, 3 months)
- Pet Ownership and Adventure helpers (~$9,000, 3 months)
- Epic Player Adventures with Hall of Fame and Feature Articles created on the Enspira Online official website highlighting the players who successfully complete these very challenging journeys (~$12,000, 4 months)

Risks and challenges
The biggest challenge overall is raising the necessary funds to sustain the continued development and operation of Enspira Online to get it to the finish line. There are no technology or know-how blockers preventing this service from coming to life. If you see and believe in the potential of Enspira Online, I strongly urge you to consider supporting this project (even if you can't actively participate in the Enspira Community) as well as recruiting your friends and family to do likewise to ensure its success.
Another challenge that all Internal Alpha players and upcoming Closed Beta players must be fully aware of is that the game will have technical instability issues (game crashes, network lag, installation problems, etc), gameplay issues (getting stuck in the world and can't move, some content not working properly, etc), game balance issues (some content may feel too easy while other content may feel too hard), and a general lack of polish and completeness throughout the game experience. As the Closed Beta progresses, the overall stability, polish and completeness of the game will improve dramatically (hence, the reason for having an Internal Alpha and Closed Beta Testing phases!).
While the expectations are that everyone's progress will be persisted through Internal Alpha and Closed Beta and eventually into the Live Launch of Enspira Online, it is possible though highly unlikely that the game may need to be reset. This means some or even all of everyone's progress may be partially or entirely lost. The worst case scenario would only happen in the unlikely case where a fundamental issue is found that makes preserving everyone's data unfeasible. This is unlikely because the underlying technology has already been tested and validated in past games.
One important exception to losing progression data is the preservation of real money spent to purchase Star Charms.
