About this project
The wheel for your all-terrain multi-purpose life outdoors.
The American engineered and manufactured Honey Badger Wheel is the marriage of the ancient Chinese Wheelbarrow and our version of the modern hunting cart. It is a Western twist of tech and innovation. It is the ultimate hiking cart for carrying heavy loads off-road. It is designed for those who choose the road less traveled.
No sidewalk? No problem! Just roll with it.
The all-terrain wheel for parents, hunters, and you! It's also for everyone with an imagination and a love for exploring the outdoors.
All series or models come with the same frame and all five series give you the option with or without disc brakes. "SERIES II" models include a hydraulic disc brake for $80 extra.
No "II" = No Brake. The only difference between the Lite, Pro, and Fattie Series is the wheel size and the Electric Series comes in two wheel sizes. And don't worry about getting the perfect wheel size. The frame is compatible with all standard bicycle wheels. You can put any standard wheel on there. Got a bicycle wheel at home? Buy the frame and throw it on there.
What will the Honey Badger carry for you?
THE ALL-TERRAIN BIG GAME CART
The first ever lightweight, compact, and adjustable ALL-TERRAIN BIG GAME CART. Consider it a collapsible cart with wheels, rather, a wheel that is. It rides in on your back and rolls out fully loaded as a backpacking cart or big game cart, deer carrier, or whatever we should call it. We'll just call it a Honey Badger Wheel.
If you are trying to reduce weight and don't want to use saddle bags or panniers on your hunt, then big game can be quartered or deboned and tied directly to the frame for a quick roll out from the backcountry. In this way, it functions as a big game cart or hunting cart.
You can also carry deer up to 200 pounds with the DEER CARRIER ACCESSORY.
And since it is not designated as a vehicle, it is allowed within most BLM property. If you hunt in the backcountry you've probably seen a similar sign below. My favorite hunting site in Utah does not allow vehicles, but does allow the Honey Badger Wheel to be used as a hunting cart.
A bull moose deboned fits right into pack animal saddle bags. If you have extra gear, you can tie it on top just like you do with a pack animal. But you don't have to feed your Honey Badger and it doesn't have a bad attitude on the trail. You have complete control of the hunting cart without the pack animal drama.
THE ALL-TERRAIN HIKING CART
The first ever fully adjustable and pannier / saddle bag-friendly ALL-TERRAIN HIKING CART. It is designed to adjust to any user height, even kids. Not everyone can carry a fully loaded backpack on the trail. This is the best option. Let the backpacking cart do all the work, not your back.
Our patented design accepts bicycle panniers of all kinds. Panniers can clip on with ease and remove just as quickly. This makes the Honey Badger Wheel the all-compatible alternative to a heavy backpack. It is the first-ever multipurpose backpacking cart, camping cart, and more.
The HEAVY GEAR / DUAL COOLERS SWIVEL allows perfectly balanced XXXL heavy loads to roll with ease. Use the collapsible frame to haul or add the accessory to carry large bulky loads.
Use it at the beach, get your gear out to your kids' Saturday soccer games, or when you want to go camping and need a camping cart to haul in heavy, bulky items.
Your coolers work with the accessory. Any coolers strap directly to the swivel mount and can be adjusted to the center pivot. Any items you wish to carry can be mounted to the accessory.
We'll offer the straps we like best on our website following the Kickstarter campaign, but you can use any straps you wish. Secure coolers or other gear to the frame accessory and roll in the camping cart.
One cooler is often enough, but with two coolers the day is twice the fun. Now you can pick the best part of the beach and take whatever you want. And when the kids get tired, they can just hop on top and ride the sand on a camping cart.
THE ALL-TERRAIN STROLLER
Parents, we've been duped! Below is a Google search for "all-terrain strollers." Do those strollers look "all-terrain" to you? Perhaps if we lower our expectations to sidewalks and walking paths. Let's raise our expectations.
This is an ALL-TERRAIN STROLLER and it seats 1-3 kids comfortably and safely. It CAN go on ALL-TERRAIN and it looks good doing it. The handlebar is the kickstand. It's a simple lift and go ...go anywhere, that is. The patent pending frame is the first ever to offer a balanced solution to carry kids with ease over any terrain.
We've tried to take our kids on outdoor adventures for years in a regular stroller. We always came up short. Not any more! The Honey Badger Wheel allows us to take them anywhere we want. No more limits. Be the hero and take your kids to the places you want to!
When using the Honey Badger wheel as an all-terrain stroller, the frame holds 1-2 Yepp Maxi child seats. Other child seats pair with the frame, but we prefer the Yepp Maxi, which will either be available on our website after the Kickstarter or anytime on Amazon.
We love taking our kids to historical sites, but they don't always have perfect sidewalks. Who wants to see concrete at parks and historical sites anyway? We just made any site a kid-friendly site. You're welcome.
The KIDDO HOOP ACCESSORY allows 1-3 kids to ride balanced over a single axle. Even on snow! Available as an add-on to any reward.
The Honey Badger Wheel grows with your family. If a kid gets tired of walking for a while, they can jump in and rest their legs. When they get their energy back they can hop out and hit the trail.
It's hard to tell who has more fun, the kids or the parents. You enjoy the trip and they enjoy the adventure. That's a win-win for everyone. The frame converts from all-terrain stroller to hiking cart in seconds.
When your kids are small they can ride in a child seat. As they get older they can transition into the KIDDO HOOP. You enjoy a visit to everywhere without the kids getting tired from a long day. We visit sites such as the National Mall in D.C. and our days are no longer cut short by tired kids. The all-terrain stroller's functionality change as your family grows.
If you're real ambitious you can use two Yepp Maxi child seats in either position facing forward or backward. It works either way.
The handlebars are the kickstand in the forward-facing position and the front safety bar is the kickstand in the rear-facing position. Carry kids safely in both positions with one or two seats. You are in control of the handlebars just like a bicycle except you are traveling at 1/5 the speed of a bike.
The front safety bar will be available on our website following the project.
...AND THE ALL-TERRAIN ELECTRIC ASSIST
The heaviest loads in the craziest terrain may require an assistant. That's where the electric assist comes into play. It is the first-ever electric hiking cart. Use it as a camping cart, backpacking cart, or deer cart, "Honey Badger don't care..."
The 500W 11 Ah electric drive is controlled with a thumb throttle so you have total control when you want to gain ground. The electric assist was born from our most recent Kickstarter for our 500W electric bike kit.
The kit includes the 500W 8FUN Motor, 11 Ah Samsung Li-Ion Battery, Controller, Cabling, Thumb Throttle, and LCD Computer. The Li-Ion Battery also includes a USB charging port for all your mobile devices while you're in the backcountry!
The 500W electric drive paired with the Honey Badger Wheel provides miles and miles of hardcore hauling. More than you'll ever need.
The Electric Series comes with a USB port to charge all your accessories many times over when you are in the backcountry without power.
DECIDE WHAT YOU NEED
*To any reward, add $150 for the Deer Carrier Accessory, $200 for the Kiddo Hoop Accessory, and $250 for the Swiveling Heavy Gear / Dual Coolers Accessory.
**Yepp Maxi child seats will be available on our website following the project for $199 and are only to be used with disc brake options NAKED II, LITE II, PRO II, FATTIE II.
Add $200 to any reward for the KIDDO HOOP. It comfortably fits up to three kids and perfectly balances your little ones directly over the single axle. We will offer a KIDDO FRAME CUSHION on our website following the Kickstarter for $39. It makes the longer-bumpier rides more comfortable.
Three kids can climb in and sit from largest to smallest and back to front in the resting position or a second adult can lift kids onto the platform in the upright position. When I take kids out solo they climb in. If my wife is with me, then one of us lifts them in. Either method works great!
We made the KIDDO HOOP safe for kids. Notice the dual side rails. We made this to prevent kids hands from bumping into trees and bushes while you're out on adventures.
Add $150 to any reward for the DEER CARRIER. Deer and other big game tie directly onto the carrier and ride perfectly balanced over the single axle. No need to debone or quarter with the DEER CARRIER. We've tested the deer carrier on big game just shy of 200 pounds. 150 is a comfortable carrying weight, but feel free to go bigger if you spot a trophy.
We've had a number of skeptics question carrying such a heavy load over a single wheel. The skeptics that have used the setup are no longer skeptics. They are converted fans now. It is simple physics balanced with American engineering. See how it works below.
The DEER CARRIER is lightweight and compact. It fits in your backpack or straps onto the outside when you hike in. Remove it from your backpack and quickly mount it to the deer cart frame. It keeps the animal directly centered over the single axle.
QUICK OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS: To load The Honey Badger Wheel with deer or other big game, place the deer cart frame upside down on top of the animal with the handlebars directly over the head. Place one strap around the lower half of the animal and the frame and one strap around the neck and the top bar of the handlebars. Then lift the handlebars while holding the brake. Use the frame as a lever to lift the animal upright and flip The Honey Badger Wheel into the upright position.
Now it is a deer-carrying hunting cart. Using the DEER CARRIER is not an art, it's a science. It's simple physics!
There is no other big game cart that is this lightweight and this compact that can go anywhere you go and still carry an entire deer. Where will you be able to hunt with the Honey Badger Wheel?
HEAVY GEAR / DUAL COOLERS SWIVEL
Add $250 to any reward for the HEAVY GEAR / DUAL COOLERS SWIVEL. The carrier allows heavy and bulky cargo to balance and swivel with ease. Heavier loads can be tightened for greater control with the swivel. This allows for XXXL loads to balance perfectly without extra force by the user on the handlebars.
The coolers always stay upright and off the ground. We've only touched the surface with how we can use the swivel mounts. Many are calling this setup a camping cart. What will you use them for?
The patented swivel design allows for almost any items to be carried. This means that a single user can carry bulky items such as paddle boards, kayaks, canoes, duffle bags, coolers, or whatever you imagine with the accessory. Your cargo will always remain parallel to the ground in the resting or upright position.
HONEY BADGER WHEEL PHYSICS
The load placed on the Honey Badger Wheel rests directly over the axle (Fulcrum) which eliminates load arm distance (X = Length to Fulcrum). The long distance of the effort arm (L = Length from Fulcrum) minimizes user effort (F = Force Required for Equilibrium) required to control or lift the cargo (W = Total Load).
Add the use of our high quality efficient bicycle wheels, which are best to counter off-road resistance, and the Honey Badger Wheel becomes the All-Terrain Mechanical Advantage.
ENGINEERING & MANUFACTURING
The Honey Badger Wheel is designed and manufactured in the USA using the latest 3D CAD / CAM engineering software. Aerospace aluminum is CNC machined and hand TIG welded using dedicated fixtures then paired with high quality bicycle components to complete the ultimate hiking cart.
The handlebars are quickly adjusted. This allows for users of all sizes to operate the camping cart, unlike other systems that are designed for specific user heights. Anyone can use the collapsible cart as a camping cart or hiking cart!
We've contracted the engineering and manufacturing of this project through Little Enterprises, LLC, a New Product Engineering and Development Firm located in Purcellville, Virginia.

Risks and challenges
We recognize the importance of sourcing and manufacturing when crowdfunding a project. We have launched other projects on Kickstarter and found overseas shipping to be quite an experience. We also recognize the best manufacturing is right here at home. For this reason, we have engineered the design and sourced the manufacturing with a local manufacturer just down the street. This will allow us 100% quality control over the project.
As a bicycle company, particularly electric bikes, we have relationships and wholesale accounts with the best bike companies in the business. This allows us to deliver the best bicycle components at the best prices as well as on time.
The patent has been filed, the designs completed, the prototypes fully vetted, and manufacturing partners in place to get rolling.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter

If you will be using the wheel for big game hunting and will be deboning or quartering your animal, then you do not need an accessory. If you will be using your wheel to pack gear in saddlebags or panniers, then you do not need an accessory.
Yes. The Honey Badger Wheel frame is designed to work with standard bicycle wheels, which have an axle measurement of approximately 99m or 3.9” at the front fork dropouts. You are welcome to purchase the Naked or Naked II and use your bicycle wheel in order to save money. Please note: The Lite, Pro, and Fattie models will not include disc compatible hubs. If you would like us to include a disc compatible hub, please add $20 to your pledge amount and we will build your wheel accordingly.
If your bicycle wheel does have a disc already installed on it, please note that we will most likely be using a Hayes Hydraulic Disc Brake System. This is compatible with most front wheel discs, but you may want to make sure if it is a concern.
No, they do not. If you would like us to build your wheel so that you can use a disc, please add $20 to your pledge amount and we will build your wheel accordingly.
No, we do not. We buy the individual components separately such as the rim, spokes, hub, tube, and tire and build the wheels in our warehouse in Utah. We professionally true every wheel so that it will arrive ready to use.
The warranty covers the frame only. If you break the frame, we will replace it. The components we include with the Honey Badger Wheel are high quality bicycle components such as the Hayes Hydraulic Brakes, Van Helga and Kenda tires. These, however, are not covered by the manufacturer, but will only break if they are abused. The frame is covered and we will replace it no questions asked if you shred it. So get out there and have an epic adventure!
We've received a few questions regarding the safety of the all-terrain stroller. Consider the terrain and use. Like a bicycle, you are in control, but unlike a bicycle, you are traveling at 1/5 the speed. You are always in control of the handlebars unless you choose to let go. We don't know why a user would let go. For example, even if the user were to trip, then the handlebars would go down to the ground with the user's hands and the Honey Badger would be in the resting position, not falling forward. The handlebars would have to go up for the wheel to fall forward and we cannot imagine a tripping upwards scenario. We have not had any experiences of the Honey Badger falling forward nor do we foresee any, but we have been asked about this and children's safety is our primary concern. For this reason, we offer the front safety bar that will be available on our website following the Kickstarter. We are also working on a leash that would prevent the wheel from rolling forward that will be available in June. Children should also wear bicycle helmets if the user feels it is necessary. We do not see a concern, but those who have not used the Honey Badger may feel safer with added safety measures, particularly during first use. But please remember, this is an outdoor product for epic adventures, not touring the escalator at the mall and children's safety is our primary concern, so be aware of your environment and don't be foolhardy.
The first 20 backers will receive their Honey Badger Wheel in June. The remaining orders will ship between June and August in the order they are received. We have the manufacturing capacity to deliver up to 500 wheels by the end of August.
