The two essential functions
Units “Guide” and “Ruler” work together to create the two essential functions of the Vanishing Point Ruler.
Vanishing Point / Placement
How Does It Work?
It’s simple! The most important part is to prevent the paper from taking any damage. The best solution: a magnet.
Inside the Guide hides a neodymium magnet, marking the vanishing point. To keep the ruler in place, simply put a thin piece of metal under your drawing paper. As an alternative, a magnetic plate could also be used as drawing pad for underneath your paper. The latter method holds the benefit, that the vanishing point can also be placed outside of your canvas.
A big benefit of working with laser is the ability to incorporate small details while maintaining a short production time.
The delicate design is carved into 1mm thin birch plywood, using laser technology. Transparent acrylic makes up the foundation of the ruler. These materials are of high quality and easy to work with. A layer of lacquer additionally protects the ruler of any accidental fineliner-attacks.
Risks and challenges
The production of the rulers costs time and money which I can not afford. Kickstarter and your support can make this possible.
As an "single entrepreneur" and the fact that the ruler is handmade, the manufacturing process could take longer depending on the quantity.
