A sandbox game in an open fantasy persistent world with real time tactical battles, strategy, empire management. Endless possibilities.
About this project
Empyrean Rule is a project inspired by the magnificent world of Lord of the Rings and our years playing great games such as Dark Omen, Mark of Chaos, Total War Series, Civilization and Eve Online.
It is a true sandbox experience derived from the seamless blend of real time tactical battles with a large scale strategy/empire management game in a massive persistent open fantasy world!
Players assume the role of a General, command massive armies and free roam in a world where individuals and empires scheme for power and dominance. It is a world which never sleeps, as everything is happening in real time, and where decisions and actions of players have a direct effect.
Empyrean Rule will be released for PC/Mac/Linux first and other platforms may follow later on. Early Access will be for PC and Mac.

Recruit from a wide variety of unit types, heroes, engines and races to form your armies. Each race has its own unique roster of units and heroes with unique stats, special abilities and spells.
There are no racial restrictions when creating an army, so the synergies are literally thousands. Beware though, not all races get along, so expect unpleasant surprises in a battle if you have units in your army which dislike or hate each other!
Generals, Armies and Guilds have different skill trees with various upgradeable skills, providing true specialization.
Use Aether that you earn from battles and quests to customize your army and heroes with different skins and warbanners to create your unique custom army.
It’s about Freedom in a massive persistent open world!
Free Roam in a massive open world map in real time where Empires control regions and antagonize over land and resources. Interact freely with the environment but beware of other AI/player armies, which may not be that friendly!
Do you want to become a General who provides his services to the highest bidder, or perhaps simply pillage and raid cities and trading caravans to amass a fortune? Do you want to take part in the politics and schemes of the world? How about forming a Guild or join an existing one, to conquer Regions in an effort to create an Empire? In Empyrean Rule, only YOU decide what life you want to live and your decisions WILL affect the world.
The game world economy is player-driven and all items and products in the game can be produced by players. There is no abundance of raw materials and products, and players’ actions directly affect the economy. (Supply & Demand, Monopolies, Economic Wars, Resource Wars, etc.)
It’s about War and Grand Scale Real Time Battles!
In-depth battle mechanics (FOW, Line of Sight, Friendly Fire, Morale, Ground Elevation, Flanks, Endurance, Weather Effects, etc.)
Random generated battlefields. No battlefield is the same. Take advantage of your surroundings to get the upper hand in a battle.
Player vs Environment in Single or Cooperative battles - Player vs Player battles. Battles as big as 30 vs 30 players! Depending on the circumstances under which a battle was initiated, there are different battle modes such as Total Annihilation, Survival, Conquer Objectives, Destroy / Protect a Target and of course Sieges.
It’s about Dominance and Power!
Players seeking more power can form or join a Guild consisted of other players. Become a Mercenary Guild, raid, lay siege to cities and fortresses, or conquer and own Regions to create an Empire in a persistent world!
Guilds owning Regions can fully manage them with absolute control over production, infrastructure improvements and regional upgrades (eg. ore deposits, cities, special buildings, fortresses, watchtowers, AI regional armies, etc.). They also have access to many other kingdom functions such as trading, diplomacy and espionage.
Guilds ought to protect their borders and trading caravans, keep the population happy, and the security level of their Regions high so they can prosper and improve further. Conquer or protect the weak, but be wary of the actions of rival Guilds!

Panos is our Lead Artist and he is responsible for all things related to 3D and 2D graphics. He is our silent power lurking in the shadows!
Konstantinos is our Lead Developer for the back end of the game. When he is not too distracted by Viber msgs, he tries to cope with grumpy Konstantinos. Difficulty check 95+ on 1d100 He fails miserably...
Konstantinos is our Lead Developer for the front end of the game and he's also responsible for the AI. Rumor has it that he's trying to create automatons to replace us all in the team.
Artur is our Sound Engineer and responsible for all the SFX, vocals and music in the game. Rumor has it that he is working on a magic flute to enchant the masses.
Risks and challenges
Creating any project, and therefore a game, is always a risk. The more complicated a game is, the more the challenges a development team has to face. To make sure that everything in the game works efficiently and effectively is not an easy task, especially with the complexity that a game such as Empyrean Rule has, but we are confident that our past track record will put everyone's mind at ease. Only our previous project, an MMORTS web browser game, had over 400k registrations, 2.5mil+ gameplays and over 5 million online battles in total, so our confidence derives from our previous experience in technical matters.
Our communication channels will always be open for the Community, as we have done so many times in the past with other games, and we will provide continuous updates while we are developing Empyrean Rule.
We promise to work day and night to deliver to you an epic game, a game which we, as developers and gamers ourselves, always wanted to play.
FAQ
-
Most definitely not! As gamers ourselves, we dislike Pay 2 Win games, as we believe that they ruin all the fun and the effort of players who do not wish to buy the SUPER DUPER "Double handed Axe of Doom" which does 1 trillion damage per hit. : ) Having said that, there will be an in-game store, where players can buy mainly cosmetics to customize their armies and heroes, such as warbanners and different skins. There will also be Skill Points resets, and a few boosts such as for XP, which will give NO advantage to a player in the battlefield. We officially hate Pay 2 Win games and we would never turn our game into one. At a later stage, we also want to give the opportunity to creative users/players to sell their own skins/warbanners and cosmetics in general in our in-game store.
