Game Features and main Mechanics
Be careful, every time you play the Level's layout will be different, Different zones containing beautiful terrain and challenging enemies.
This guarantees that you will always be presented with new challenges and experiences to test you skills on.
When your character's HP drops to 0 the game lists all of your statistics during that run, but you won’t lose all progress instead you will be able to buy Abilities and boosters with the gold you have acquired during previous runs.
We think this adds a huge degree of replayability to the game and together with the procedurally generated levels makes it more about mastering the various elements of the game and rewarding you for continuously refining your play instead of repetition and memorizing everything.
The Game input and physics were coded in a particular way in order to mimic fast-paced popular.
Every Zone has it’s own Challenging Boss, Prepare to have epic and memorable boss battles within each one.
Everytime you defeat a boss there will be great rewards waiting for you.
Special Side Rooms will have Chests Containing useful rewards and power ups.
You are able to bring with you up to 3 different abilities to each run, each one is specially made to help you in different scenarios and fit different play styles.
- Nuclear Throne - I love the mix between fast paced action gameplay and really hard difficulty, which was the main goal of the game when i started creating it.
- Spelunky - The procedural generation is heavily inspired on spelunky also thanks so much to much to Derek Yu for writing Spelunky (boss fight books book 11), it inspired me to start in game design and development. i find myself reading this book a lot when i’m taking game design decisions.
- Super Meat Boy - I was heavily inspired by their tight controls, The input and physics were coded in a particular way in order to mimic their “game feel”.
I started working on EverHunter about 4 months ago, when i decided i wanted to follow my heart and started learning to develop games.
After the first month 3 months i had a achieved a really good prototype with most of the basic game mechanics in it, but i had no art and no money to pay for it. That’s when Denis Selimovic decided to join me in the project as the main artist.
Later on, we realized that if we wanted to implement all the ideas we had for the game we needed financing.
All that we have so far has been achieved without any financial support. As of now Kickstarter is our only opportunity to get the necessary finances and not lose the opportunity to accomplish our dream.
Risks and challenges
It all started 4 months ago, i was tired of my job as a web developer and decided to follow my dream of becoming an independant game developer. These 4 months haven’t been easy at all there were so many things to learn and do specially since i’m doing most of the work alone. But i won’t give up on this project.
This is EverHunter i have put my heart and soul in it, hundreds of working hours and sleepless nights. Of course, everything is possible: missed deadlines, technical problems, health problems, and more. But i have reached this far with my eyes focused on one goal: To get this project fully released and hopefully provide people with an amazing and memorable adventure.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
