Please help me launch my new Little Black Dress Collection to bring artisan British design to women across the UK and beyond.
We made our £30k target!
So, in rather thrilling news, we have exceeded our £30k funding target, which means that The Little Black Dress Collection is officially going into production!
As we're on a roll, we've decided to announce a couple of
S T R E T C H G O A L S:
If we make £35,000 by our project deadline, we'll enter each of our backers into a prize draw to win a bespoke framed 30" x 20" canvas artwork. The winner can choose from any of our LBD campaign images and we'll frame it in their choice of gold or silver, and I will write a personal message on the back. See our £325 pledge for examples.
And if we can make £40,000 we'll hold a launch party in London and invite all of our supporters and backers along with our press and industry friends to help us celebrate!
Let's do one final push to the finishing line and see what we can achieve together!
The latest addition to the Little Black Dress Collection
We've reached the half way point of our campaign and so are delighted to introduce a new piece to the Little Black Dress Collection as a thank you to all those who have supported us thus far and hopefully a tempting offer to encourage others to get involved in the launch - so please spread the word!
Introducing Bailey, our party-perfect frock made from heavenly champagne silk satin. A variation of our Coco wedding dress, Bailey is a very special piece, with a black beaded lace overlay that is enhanced by the contrasting champagne under layer. The soft brushed satin of Bailey feels wonderful against the skin, while tulip sleeves are a flattering finishing touch.
Pledge £595 to secure a Bailey LBD at around a third of its future retail price.
With 16 years in the bespoke bridal business, I have built a reputation for creating timelessly elegant dresses for the discerning bride. I am proud to say that all of my dresses are made by hand in London.
Now, inspired by women of all shapes, sizes and ages, I have designed a collection of exquisitely crafted, British-made Little Black Dresses. Blending classic, elegant silhouettes with the most luxurious materials and artisan craftsmanship, they are extra special pieces designed to make you feel amazing, whatever the occasion.
As with my wedding dresses, the Little Black Dress Collection uses only the finest fabrics and natural fibres, such as pure silk crepe, silk taffeta and some wonderful British lace. All the dresses are proudly made by hand in the Wimbledon studio.
Why should you invest?
By backing the Little Black Dress Collection on Kickstarter, you are pre-ordering an exquisite, hand made dress at a third of its future retail price and will receive it in time for festive parties. The antithesis of fast fashion, you will be getting a piece that will last you for years, a trusted favourite that you can return to again and again.
You will help us fund production here in London so that I can ensure you are getting finely-crafted, British-made dresses. You’ll be contributing to keep British craftsmanship alive and flourishing.
On successful completion of this Kickstarter campaign, we will initially sell the collection on our website, but we also have long term plans to sell our Little Black Dress collection through select boutiques and luxury department stores.
Furthermore, by investing in a Little Black Dress you are helping me to understand which pieces are the most popular so I’ll be able to better plan for when we take the collection to the buyers.
The Little Black Dress Collection is a passion project for me, but I have been waiting for the right moment to launch.
Having researched the market, I have found there to be a gap for timeless, special pieces that are made here in the UK.
We are all placing greater value on the provenance of what we invest in; we want to know that it has been made with care and skill. The throwaway days of fashion are behind us and we want to invest in something we can be assured will last and that we can cherish.
My frocks are finely-crafted, quality silk pieces that epitomise the elegant simplicity I have built my reputation on.
Meet the Little Black Dresses
Each dress is made with two layers of pure silk so the dresses hang perfectly, while the silk lining next to your skin feels wonderfully luxurious.
In return for your pledge I am offering you an exclusive discounted Kickstarter price, meaning you will get a hand-made Little Black Dress for around a third of their future retail price.
There are only 30 of each dress available through this Kickstarter campaign, so it is truly a rare chance to get your hands on an individually crafted Little Black Dress in return for supporting my project.

Please note that our sizing differs from typical high street measurements. Please take care to measure around the widest point of your bust and hips, and at your natural waist, and match to the closest size below. We recommend sizing up rather than down if you are between sizes.
If you are unsure of how to measure yourself, I would be happy to help you. We will confirm your order size details on successful completion of this project and will have a few dates from October onwards where you can come to the studio to be measured. Dates TBC after this Kickstarter campaign.
We are also offering the opportunity to visit the Wimbledon showroom and see the collection first hand on our Little Black Dress Open Day on Sunday 14th September. Please contact us on email@example.com for further details.
Bespoke Service Reward
If you would like any of the above dresses made with modifications individual to you, we are offering a bespoke service reward, where I'll make one dress specifically for you to the value of £1,700 for a £1,000 pledge, or two dresses to the value of £3,500 for a pledge of £2,000.
This service involves me making your Little Black Dress from scratch for you, with your own pattern and a series of fittings to ensure that it is the perfect match to your unique shape and taste.
Perfect Partners for your Little Black Dress
My bridal clients love the couture jackets I make to give them an extra look on their wedding day, so I have designed variations for my Little Black Dress Collection, available to Kickstarter backers at approximately a third of their future retail price. They'll look beautiful teamed with a party frock to add a little more coverage, while also equally as fabulous used to glam up a pair of jeans for drinks and dinner. Available in spotty tulle, corded lace or silk georgette. Order details will be specified after successful completion of this campaign.
Extra Backer Gifts
In addition to the beautiful Little Black Dresses on offer, I have also created some extra rewards, exclusively for you, my Kickstarter supporters. I have hand sketched the dresses and created a set of beautiful notecards to glam up your correspondence, or simply be displayed as artwork. Every Kickstarter backer will receive a frameable postcard with a sketch of one of the dresses, signed by me.
I've also created limited edition artworks of our Little Black Dress photo shoot. These are printed in limited runs and are exclusive to our Kickstarter backers. I'll sign and number each one, so you will have a truly one-off piece of art. There is a selection of framed and canvas artworks in varying sizes.
I've also produced an exclusive 2015 calendar with 12 of our beautiful frocks to decorate your wall each month. Printed on thick, glossy stock and in a limited run, this will make a fabulous Christmas gift.
All Kickstarter backers will also get exclusive previews of all future Little Black Dress Collections.

What will we do with the funds raised?
Our immediate priority will be to order the materials and packaging, make your dresses and fulfil your orders.
Your support will also go towards building the new e-commerce platform of our website, and creating more samples to take to the buyers.
By moving into the luxury retail market with your support of the Little Black Dress Collection, we can provide another revenue stream for the business, which will allow us to expand. Hopefully, this will mean we can move to a bigger showroom and studio in the near future as we grow.

Risks and challenges
Having made couture wedding dresses for individual clients for 16 years, I'm very used to working to deadlines and understand the importance of supplying the finished product on time. A wedding is not a flexible date, so I know how to time manage my team.
The dresses are based on our current collection so I know how long they take to make and my team and I are used to making them. If we receive a higher volume of orders than expected I will communicate with all my backers and prioritise orders.
Customer satisfaction has been a cornerstone of our success to date. It is essential that we continue to provide that to everyone, always.
Production time and shipping dates will also be dependent on the speed of backers returning ordering information.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
