Enamel pins! I'm a fan. I know lots of fans. And I have a couple of designs I think are pretty fantastic that I've sold as t-shirts, prints, mugs, keychains, vinyl decals, etc. which I've personally made over the years. Well, now I want to have them cast in metal with colored enamel paint applied.
Here's the proof I got from the vendor:
They are a dyed black nickel metal pin with the letters being metal and all the shapes coloured in.
I like these so much, I want to move forward with them. I'm just only going to place an order if people actually want them. (Seriously, who wants boxes of stuff just lying around their living rooms and garages?)
The order is for 200 pins (100 of each design), "custom made die struck soft-enamel in a 2 inch size." The setup and mould are free, each pin comes with 1 rubber-clutch back, and are individually poly bagged.
14 days to fund, 14 days for payment, 21 days turnaround at the company, 7 days to ship to me, plus 7 days to shipping to US backers. That's a total of 63 days from the start of this Kickstarter until it should be in your hands. I'm projecting they would be in your hands by June 1st, 2017 at the very latest if you are an International backer.
You order. We fund. I fulfill. You get pins. I plan to use Backerkit to fulfill orders and shipping labels. Since it's such a small project, I'm not expecting any hiccups if we fund.
Me! I mean, hi! I'm Emma. I'm a graphic designer and illustrator who had a webcomic for 12 years, started playing with lasers for a living, then traveled the comic conventions of North America for 3 years, before settling down so I could actually make some things of my own. (I missed my cats.)
I'm the Production Ninja for the Men Vs Cosplay and Women Vs Cosplay teams, I've worked on the box art for Branum Games' Battle Gnomes!, and I've helped create Kickstarter Rewards for author Jamie Wyman, creators Shelby and Elizabeth Robertson, illustrator Jeff Perryman, and others.
I don't have the tools to do the casting myself, so I figured I should have a professional make these for me. This is where your pre-orders come in.
After spending so much time on the road, I'm returning to my own brand. I've recently started working on a new site ChaiMonster.com, and am ready to re-focus on my passion - chai, coffee, and making stuff. The site is going to be dedicated to my coffee and tea mugs, merchandise, and eventually my own coffee roasts and chai blends. I've reached out to a couple local roasteries and tea blenders, but that's for another project.
I have contacted a vendor who has a good repetoire with several of my friends. This is also the same vendor we used for Men Vs Cosplay and Women Vs Cosplay enamel pins. They are a small family owned business based out of Littleton, CO. More importantly, the production price is pretty dang good, and I like their quality on the stuff we've run before.

Risks and challenges
Emma has been involved in the creation of, fulfillment of, and production of rewards for 7 successful Kickstarters, and one IndieGoGo campaign of her own EmaCartoon.com: A Webcomic of Art and Life's 10th Birthday Art Book.
Risks are relatively low, with reservation for the potential of printing or production delays that may delay shipping. Either way, if successful, you will get a pin.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
