Snippets of the Songs!
About the album
Ordinary Love is my tenth recording and I know I say this every time, but I think it's going to be my favorite! I love the songs and I'm so excited to be working with so many incredible musicians here in Minneapolis. I've got the gals from The OK Factor on violin and cello, the women from Give Get Sistet share their powerful vocals, and a whole bunch of other local Minnesota folks. I've been working with Steve Kaul at Wild Sound Studios and it's been a joy to work locally. I am so excited to share two of the in-progress songs with you from this record featured in the video (Ordinary Love and The Finest Adventure).
I reached my goal on June 20, 2019!!!! I am so thrilled that I know for sure that I have the funding to finish this recording, mix it with care, complete the album artwork design, the manufacturing of CDs, LPs, and other fun stuff.
So now we're into the stretch goals! I really am hoping to raise $40- $50,000....If I do reach beyond my initial goal, I'd like to make music videos and hire a publicist and radio promoter to help this album really fly. Usually I make a record and spread it person by person, one show at a time. This time, I would love to try to land spots on NPR, in major music magazines, as well as in other mainstream media.
And I can do all that, with your help!
It's my hope that this Kickstarter campaign will give you a way to be a part of making all of this happen. There are a lot of options for sponsoring and dedicating songs, associate or executive producing the record, getting signed copies of the album, guitar lessons, and so much more!

I am a contemporary folk artist. This is my 10th solo album. I can hardly believe how lucky I have been and continue to be in this indie folk music career. I suppose I always think my best songs are ahead of me, but y'all I think this collection will be my most mature and moving recording effort yet!
For folks (maybe like you) who already know me, you know that it is my life’s work to practice being undefended and open; to write songs from that place and offer them wholeheartedly.
I believe songs are powerful, and at their best, they can connect people to themselves and to one another. I LOVE recording my songs! It's a way to give them the chance to come to life outside of any live performance.
I aspire to make recordings that are beautiful and feel alive like an oil painting with color, perspective, and depth, along with a story that lives inside each song that hopefully feels like an old friend.
I want to inspire laughter and acceptance and appreciation of all the beautiful things right here without pushing away the troubles that can feel so heavy and break our hearts.
I hope to make this an album that you love, and become friends with, and that you want to carry around with you every single day. I can't wait for you to hear it.
Risks and challenges
This album will get done with your help! I know this because it is soooooo close already!! The risks and challenges come with the promotion side of the release. But that is after (hopefully) a successful launch and you receive your thank you gifts!
If I reach my stretch goals, I can make a couple music videos as well as hire folk radio promotion. The main challenge will be finding the story of this record that is most interesting (for press and interviews) and focusing those promotion funds to spread my music to a wider audience.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
