About

Whisper is Cursed...She is a witch of the Candletide Coven and has visions of a war that is yet to begin. This sets her on a quest to warn all the other Kingdoms of the coming threat, but will they listen to reason or allow their fears to get the better of them? Her group of strange yet dedicated companions grows along the way, as does the danger. Dodging attacks from a sinister cult who seeks to kidnap whisper and drain her magical blood, she seeks to hunt them down first and bring them to justice. While the war inches closer to igniting.

Last year I decided to bite the bullet and write a fantasy novel. It was the first time I attempted such a feet but by God it was satisfying. I was developing a whole world of my choosing and putting in backstory and plot, I soon realized that this adventure was only just starting and I knew the book I wrote was just the first in a long line of fantasy novels. I was swept up in a whirlwind of imagination which I basked in, eventually coming to the point late last year when I was ready to publish. I sent it out to many publishers but with little to no reply, I wound up publishing on Amazon which you can view here: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Whispers-Curse-Madness-Heroes-Oarborne/dp/1726658805/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1548166881&sr=8-1&keywords=whispers+curse

Currently it's not doing so well in sales, which is not the reason why I wrote it, I just mean that there is little to no people reading and enjoying my work an since I'm unemployed, it's hard to put money into promotions and sponsorships. I promised myself that the next time I publish my work, I would do it properly and professionally with some money backing me. Also I feel I need to go to a few classes to get my grammar square and it would be awesome to chat to other authors and bounce ideas off them. That is why I'm turning to Kickstarter, its a brilliant way of putting my book out there while at the same time planning and gathering support for the follow up. I really think there is something soulfully good about my writing and you have perhaps heard of a dozen or so other authors saying the same thing but I'm young and I believe with the right amount of backing, I can be a great author and you, my friends, will be a part of that.

I was born and raised in the quiet, countryside village of Parbold, Lancashire and during my High School years, I would dabble in many creative hobbies but one that would truly stick would be writing. During lunchtimes you would probably find me trying to stave off the boredom of school by sitting under a tree and writing any number of interesting fantasies that would pop into my head. I had no idea that years later, my work would actually be published. Such an innovative mind would no doubt seek out a vocation that needs innovation so I went on to study Mechanical Engineering in college, thinking it would be a good challenge for me. A challenge it certainly was but I soon realized that the qualification I achieved didn't mean much in the engineering world. Ten years of a normal, monotonous life later and I would find myself unemployed and with a lot of time on my hands so I started to dream and write again. Gathering a positive response from the work I put out, I decided to take the next step and make a short story magazine on Facebook: The Phenomenon Mysteries Magazine. There, I honed my skills as a mystery writer for over a year with the issues becoming larger and more complex after every release. I then thought of challenging myself more and upped the ante by writing a novel under a different genre than what I was used to. Thus, the Heroes of Oarborne series was born and now that I got the taste for it, there's lots more yet to come that's for sure!

Risks and challenges

Budgeting is my main problem. You got to spend money to make money but what if you have no money to start off with? I would also say the sequel to the book is probably a lot harder than the first because I always have to look back through my work for the first one to keep things in line while also drawing newer and more exciting plot points in. Writer's retreat, classes and even talking to popular authors are all costly, like so many things the lack of money is unfortunately dragging me down and if I can't gain some momentum on furthering myself, I feel my books will never sell and no one will see them.
