About this project
My dear friends, this is so amazing!! I am so happy that I could cry! A dear friend of mine named Mike Eason, who went to school with me when I lived in Dunn, North Carolina, pledged a total of $3,000 and my friend Thomas Tebo pledge $1,0000!!!!! - pushing me over my Kickstarter goal 7 days before the end of my project! I am amazed and breathing a sigh of relief and gratefulness because of your help!!
I am ALSO very thankful to ALL of my backers for helping me get there! You are all so kind and generous!!!
YAY! I am so happy that I get to make this Album now and can't want to get started working on it!!!! I will be heading to the studio in Nashville, TN in July. :-)
Of course, the pledging still remains open until June 20 at 9:30 p.m. and if anyone else wants to continue giving, I promise it will definitely be put to good use towards the album!! The more pledged OVER my goal, the more songs I can record and the more I can do with the music. However, no more giving is necessary at this point. I thank you ALL for helping me reach my Kickstarter goal!! Thank you for being a part of my team!!!!!!
Love you all!
Dear friends, my name is Elizabeth South. I am a Preschool/Elementary Music and Drama Teacher. I am also a Singer/Songwriter. I have also recorded about five albums on top of full time teaching over the last several years out of my own salary and savings to bring people music of healing, encouragement, love, and ministry. I am on Kickstarter now to find support for recording my sixth album and my first Country Album since I told many of you I could never afford to record another album unless I had some help. Because of the positive response to my duet with Vince Gill on my "I Love You (feat. Vince Gill)" song (my first country song) and the fact that the Music Video had it's 1st Premiere in rotation on TCN (The Country Network/Zuus Country) June 7th (on my Birthday!!) at 2:45 p.m. EDT, I decided that I wasn't ready to end my singing/songwriting hobby career just yet. I'm really excited to pursue writing and recording more music in a similar country pop style. (btw, I would really appreciate it you could also go to the TCN/Zuus Facebook page and request that it be played again to keep it in rotation longer!) Watch the Music Video here.
I am an Independent Artist and not on a record label. I pay for everything myself and recording is very expensive. I have put out thousands of dollars from my own teaching and savings salary over the years. To continue doing more, I need your help! So . . . . this Kickstarter approach will allow me to continue forward with the process of bringing you new music. By reaching my Kickstarter goal, I will be able to record this summer and release brand new music THIS YEAR!
Kickstarter uses an 'all or nothing' system, which means that if for some unlikely reason I don't hit my pledge goal, no money will be exchanged, and no rewards will be distributed. However, once I meet my pledge goal, you can be guaranteed new music and rewards are on the way!
I have set a fundraising deadline of Thursday, June 20th at 9:30 pm EST time. If I reach my pledge goal before that date, my Kickstarter project will stay live, and will continue to accept pledges. In the event that I hopefully surpass my goal, I encourage everyone to keep spreading the word and for pledging to continue. I will update everyone with details on how any additional money raised beyond my original goal will be graciously welcomed and put to effective use to build my new project. After all, YOU and Elizabeth South are essentially running a record label now! :)
So, what do ya think? I would be incredibly grateful for any help that you can provide; you can pledge as little as $1, but be sure to check out the “Rewards” section of this page to see what I am offering to those that pledge more. I have some pretty cool gifts and fun opportunities for those who pledge.
I have always known that I have the greatest fans, friends and family in the world! I was overwhelmed by all the supportive responses I got on Facebook when I asked you all if you would be willing to support me on releasing another album! I am incredibly grateful for the opportunities that lie ahead of me, and I thank you. I look forward to getting this brand new music out to as many of you as possible. Let's do this!

***NEW REWARDS: I have Added some New and Additional REWARDS: You will see on the right side some rewards that will say: ***New Reward Added*****
I have also had an incredible friend who likes to make jewelry as a hobby, offer to make Jewelry with the names of my Songs written on them. I am adding the option for a piece of jewelry for a $30 & $55 reward as a new additional reward. (requests for colors and song names will be taken and can be a bracelet or necklace). Here is picture example. Aren't they beautiful? I want one!!
Reaching my Kickstarter pledge goal will allow me to write new music, complete all the new studio recordings including tracking, mixing and mastering. It will also pay for the EP artwork and design, as well as printing, duplication and packaging.
I had only two songs in the pop country style on my "I Love You" Album, except for one song I did not release or have the ability to finish called "Take a Chance." I would like to finish and release "Take a Chance" on this new album in addition to new songs I will be writing. The name of the new album has not been decided yet, but there are two pledge rewards where those who pledge those rewards will be able to give suggestions for the name!
You can listen to the two songs I have already released in that country pop style here:
"I Love You (feat. Vince Gill)" written by Elizabeth South and Billy Smiley:
and "Change" written by Elizabeth South, Billy Smiley, Mark & Jill Boliek:

Risks and challenges
I can't in good conscience guarantee a Fall release. But I CAN guarantee, however, that the album will be in your hands by a reasonable date this year!
It's also important to note that Kickstarter backers are never charged *unless and until* a project successfully meets its funding goal. You can also UPGRADE your pledge at any time during the campaign!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
