Prototype Production: Behind the scenes

The 25 prototypes have been shipped to backers to play with and test!  This is a huge step along the way toward completion!

While getting feedback from the testers, I'm also preparing for production.  The longest-lead item, the LCDs, have been ordered!  Everything is still on track depending on how many corrections are needed after further testing.

Here is a set of photos from the prototype production.  I assembled them all myself, which became more work than I originally planned!  There are now about 60 tiny surface-mount parts per device, each needing to be carefully placed with a tweezers.  Multiply that by 25 and you get 1500 parts...I'm so glad to be past that!

Wow, after a whole year, I'll be receiving a Timelapse+ ---before--- the Trigger Trap.
Both Kickstarter products don't do the same thing, not the same toy, but both are similar in :
      - designing the electronics
      - designing the case
      - dealing with multiple suppliers
      - assembly

IOW Elijah, KUDOS, you've managed a A-Z product from pure thought to pure product, ready to ship. Not an easy feat. I just wish I had ordered more than one :) to gift my photographer friends.

Sweet, are there going to be any color options? What color will the rest of us get?

Thanks for all the hard work Elijah. This has been a great project to back on Kickstarter. Can't wait to get my hands on the production model! :)

@mookmill -- yes, I'm so thankful to be done with tweezers! The production machines will be placing multiple parts per second with much greater precision -- definitely the way to do it!

Wow. Huge effort Elijah, I bet you can't wait to get the production streamlined without the need for tweezers!
