À propos du projet
Reasons why you should keep reading
1) You enjoy wine
2) But you don't like paying an arm and a leg for a bottle
3) And the ones that are within your price range just aren't smooth enough
4) So you don't get to enjoy it as much as you want to
Good news. Now you have options...
How it works
Maturing wine is essentially waiting for wine molecules to interact over time. With Elevie’s reusable Wine Maturing Badge, different wavelengths along the electromagnetic spectrum are condensed into infrared, and stimulate the molecules into interacting at an extremely rapid pace—condensing years of slow interaction into minutes.
This groundbreaking Wine Maturing Badge is made of silicone and other proprietary material. The Badge is reusable up to at least a hundred times, comes with a protective plastic card and sleeve, and fits easily in wallets and purses.
Designed in NYC. Made in Taiwan.
- Although the Badge works on both red and white wines, it will be easier to discern an improvement in taste when applied to bold reds as compared to dry whites
- Please do not apply the Badge to carbonated wines as it will become extremely flat
- Given the surface area, the Badge works best on a single serving rather then applying it to the entire bottle—but that would be great idea, wouldn't it?
We are a group of creatives living in Brooklyn, brought together by radical technology, community, and a desire to elevate life as we know it. Our backgrounds include engineering, graphic design, product design, and management consulting. When it comes to improvements, some things should be taken seriously, such as personal development. But the little things in life, like having a drink, are better enjoyed in the moment. In our quest to solve some of the world’s largest problems, like what to do with our lives, we found a way to make wine taste better.
Wish we could say we're a group of wine aficionados with a passion to disrupt the wine industry and the way bottles are priced, but that wouldn't be true (not completely anyways). The inventor working on this energy wave conversion technology had the idea of applying it to wine for fun. Multiple conversations later, a business developer, designers, and engineers got on-board to form the team that's successfully brought the Badge to life.
Even though this started as a side-project in our spare time, we are relentlessly focused on function as well as design and will continue to develop new offerings, working piece by piece to better integrate this technology and elevate the way you drink wine.
How do I know this Badge really works?
The million dollar question, literally. I guess if Oprah tried it and said it works you'd believe her (we're working on that). The answer is: you really need to try it for yourself. If there was a way to reach through this screen and hand you a Badge, we would.
As we continue our efforts to spread the word, we will update this page with articles from credible news outlets that have tested the Badge. Meanwhile, we're willing to offer a guarantee—if you are not satisfied with the Badge after you have received it, return the Badge, and we will refund your funding minus shipping and Kickstarter's fee (yes, they take 8-10%).
How does the Badge work, again?
Various wavelengths along the electromagnetic spectrum such as UV rays and visible light exist all around us. When these energy waves come into contact with the Badge, the proprietary material within the Badge acts as a catalyst that absorbs these energy waves and emits them as condensed infrared. The infrared then enters the wine and stimulates the wine molecules (such as acid, phenols, and sugar) into colliding against each other at an extremely rapid pace, causing chemical reactions. Reducing what normally occurs over lengthy periods of time, without stimulation, into minutes.
What wines do the Badge work on?
Both red and white wines. From Robert Mondavi's to Yellowtail and Barefoot, this Badge does not discriminate. There's also rumors about Two Buck Chuck tasting super smooth, but we shouldn't speculate.
When should I use the Badge?
The rule of thumb should be: If you like it, drink it. But if you don't like it, elevate it. If the red wine smells like sulfite, is too acidic or too dry, use the Badge. If the white wine is too tart, use the Badge.
All it needs is 5 minutes?
Yes. You will see, smell, and taste significant difference after 5 minutes. The longer you leave it on, the more molecular interactions take place.
How does the wine taste after applying the Badge?
It depends on the wine and how long the Badge is applied. The color, aroma, and taste will continue to change as long as the Badge is applied. But in general, the wine will become less acidic and less dry, making for a smoother and better tasting wine.
How many times can I use the Badge?
At least a hundred times before the stickiness of the silicone wears off—but the wine maturing properties of the Badge never wears out!
Will the Badge only stick to wine glasses?
The Badge will stick to pretty much any cup (glass, plastic, ceramic, metal) as long as there's a smooth surface. We know you're thinking Solo cups.
What is the size of the Badge?
3.13" wide, 1.88" long, and 0.20" thick. The protective plastic card is the exact size of a credit card.
Why is a piece of silicone so expensive?
Silicone is not expensive, but the material that's mixed into it is. This proprietary material is extremely expensive to obtain.
When will I receive the Badge?
Late October, 2015. Plenty of time before the holidays.
Anything else I should know about the Badge?
Hand wash with cold water. Do not chew or ingest. Please refrain from putting it on your child; it's a different kind of mature.

Risques et défis
A lot of time and resources have already been poured into this project and the first production run for the Badges is already nearing completion. Instead of taking on additional investors, we've decided to involve the Kickstarter community to help raise the rest of our production and logistic costs.
Having said that, as with any project, there may be some unforeseen delays. But given our current manufacturing and logistics structure, we believe we have the best possible supply chain in place to deliver your Badges on time and mitigate any potential delays. Should unexpected problems arise, we will keep you informed.
