One step closer to an Android App!

Posted by eightdog (Creator)

Hi all,

I have just got running my first draft of a graphical application on Pi to control the Explorer board. Just click a button to turn the motor on! I will be releasing the source code when ready and a tutorial so you can put together your own GUI's- very cool.

This takes me one step closer to having an Android App for complete wireless control of a wireless robot.

Also, you can now buy another Explorer on Kitronik:

Only had time for a quick test on Thursday - but it seemed to co-operate OK running one of the demos with the board modified for control by an Android tablet via Scratcher Control. I'll see if I can get a more sophisticated example ready for my club on Tuesday and film it.

ah ha! I've not tried that. Please do let me know how you get on as this would be a nice thing to get up and running.

Another way to control Laika via Android might be to use Scratcher Control http://khanning.com/scratchercontrol/ - I'll have a play on Thursday and see it it co-operates...
