Solder fume is harmful to health, so be smart and start using a fume extractor from maker for maker. Our Fumetractor keeps the fume away from your face:
- Battery powered, so no annoying cables on the solder table (charge edition only, standard 18650-cell)
- easily changeable activated carbon filter
- very wieldy
- silent operation thanks to high quality 60mm fan with vapo-bearing-system (>60.000 hours of operation)
- kit for assembling fun (SMD-parts already soldered, so it's real fun!)
- 6 hours of operation (without LED-light)
- made in Germany
- free worldwide DHL shipping with tracking number (no battery included for airmail)
- gas-gauge for battery monitoring, so don't worry about deep discharge
Here is an explosion view of the kit:
The outer dimensions are about 130x83x74mm, so it really fits on every soldering table (or car... or bedside table...)
The latest prototype of the fumetractor was presented at the Maker Faire Berlin and at the Maker Faire Bodensee, a lot of people used it for soldering our lovely wooden robot at our soldering-workshop:
The feedback was enormous and it worked like a charm all day long. The optional LED-light was included for perfect light when soldering at the workshop. It has 9 really bright daylight (5000K) LEDs for a perfect illumination of your PCB. Just add 10€ and you will get one!
We decided to use only one button in the Fumetractor's design. And yes, that's really enough.
It has a lot of functionality:
- short press: turn the fan on or off
- longer press (>0,5s): turn the fan and the LED light on
- extra long press (>1s): turn everything on and change brightness of LED-light
The PCB is included in every edition. Depending on the edition, there are some parts pre-soldered... or not. So you cannot upgrade the USB-only edition to usb-charge for example. Ok, if you can solder QFN-parts by hand... at least you can...
There are three versions of the Fumetractor: an USB-only edition, a USB-charge-edition and a USB+WPC-charge edition. Here are the differences between them:
And there is one special edition just for kickstarter: a limited batch of 20 pieces (numbered from #1/20 to #20/20) made of PMMA.
What is this WPC stuff we are writing about? WPC stands for Wireless Power Charging and is a way to charge stuff without a cable. You may know this from your smartphone. The Fumetractor can be charged with every Qi-Standard charger. As we don't have tons of money, we are not allowed to use the Qi-logo, but believe us, we used every testing routine they do on their compliance-tests and passed them all (except of one, and that's more than ok for the first run!):
Here you can see the Fumetractor charging on a standard Ikea lamp:
Now the most important thing: Let's talk about money!
Import tax, VAT and/or customs fees might be added depending on your country!
You like the fumetractor and want more than just one? Just choose your reward and multiply the money you pay. But: The early bird versions are limited to 1 per person!
We are already working for about 2 years on this project, here is a small timeline about eHaJo:
Please help us by supporting this great project and by spreading our message about a healthy and safe solder environment.
Thank you very much,

Risks and challenges
We have a lot of experience in developing PCBs, soldering kits, ... so the risk is minimal, the project is already finished.
The prototype has passed every long-time test and also passed the compliance-test for the CE-certification, putting it in mass production is our business.
