There’s nothing like the feeling of singing and playing
music to a crowd of strangers, who then come up to you afterward to say how
much they enjoyed it. The strangers become fans, and often, friends, who are
incredibly supportive in spreading the word and sharing the music with
others. The tough part in all of this is
getting out to where all of the strangers are.
Hi, I’m Edward Hartline, and I'm an acoustic folk blues
singer/songwriter from Alabama. Last
summer, my mom and manager, Morgan Raymond, my tour manager, and I drove almost 4000 miles all
over the southern US, so I could share my music in coffeehouses. We had a great time, met a bunch of really
cool people, and as soon as the tour was over, we wanted to do it again.
Summer is coming soon, and we’re anxious to get back on the
road for an east coast US tour. Unfortunately, not every stop has a friend with
an available couch, so we need hotels. We also need more merchandise to sell,
food, gas and a rental car to get everywhere. Every dollar really does help,
and in exchange, I’ve got some cool rewards (I’d rather call them gifts) at a
bunch of different levels to make it as easy as possible for you.
Some of the gifts are digital downloads of my songs, others
are physical copies of my CDs, including a CD I will record just for this
project, consisting of songs I don’t ever perform and have never even intended
to record. There’s even one my mom wrote
the lyrics for that’s kind of embarrassing for me to sing, so if you enjoy
making musicians uncomfortable, this is a great way to do it! You can also literally help build the tour
with a private show that I’ll add in to the tour dates. We had fun coming up
with all the gifts and we think you’ll like what we chose. I’d really like to
have to send all that stuff out and play for you, too!
Thanks for checking out my project and I hope to meet you
out on tour this summer. Just come on up and tell me you’re one of my backers,
and you’ll get a big hug of thanks!
