The Hawk & Hosoi Book is the third (and final) in a series of illustrated tributes to some of the most influential and iconic professional skateboarders of all time. Tony Hawk and Christian Hosoi's legendary contest battles in the 1980's pushed vertical skateboarding to new heights. Hosoi, known for his flair and graceful style contrasted with Hawk's technical ability and difficult tricks.
Both Tony and Christian have personally approved this project.
This project is to fund a 60+ page full colour book featuring new work from a host of artists including: Michael Chsiung, Jay Croft, Luke Hanson, Chad Cardoza, Nathan McKee, Ed Syder, Thomas Fernandez, Thom Lessner, Joel Abad, Pete Hellicar, Dave The Chimp, Kevin Wilkins, Philip Morgan, Nick Simich, Neil Macdonald and many more.
As well as the book itself, I'm offering lots of great backer rewards including T-Shirts, badges, art prints and original artwork.
If we raise £4000+ then I'll be able to reprint the 1st book in the series 'The Natas & Gonz Book' and include it with your backer rewards (as long as you've pledged at least £30).
The funding goal for this Kickstarter covers the expenses of the entire project. This covers the printing of the book, the rewards, Kickstarter fees, payment processing fees, shipping supplies, and a little bit extra for any miscellaneous costs that I may encounter a long the way. Together, we can make this happen! Thanks for stopping by and THANK YOU for your support!
Previous books in the series:
1. The Natas & Gonz Book (published Jan 2015)
2. The Neil & Lance Book (published October 2015)
Risks and challenges
The risks and challenges for this project are pretty low. This is my second Kickstarter book project, and I learned quite a bit from that first Kickstarter, so this one should be even smoother. The artwork in the book has already been created, the book is designed, laid-out, and is ready to be sent to the printer. All of the work on the book is complete, and almost all of the rewards are ready to go. It just needs your help to be printed.
The rewards for this Kickstarter will be shipped with the book. Packaging and shipping of the finished book along with rewards will be handled directly by myself along with some friends and family helping out. Providing there's no issues with the book manufacturing/shipping, my goal is to have the book and rewards in backers hands in by the end of 2017. It is the holiday season, and the post office can move a little slower during that time, but my hope is that the books will arrive on time. international orders may take a little longer due to customs and overseas shipping.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
