Thanks for checking out edlee Sunglasses. At edlee we are here to improve your overall sunglass experience.
- Are things better when done together with someone else?
- Ever lose a pair of sunglasses?
- Ever damage or break your sunglasses?
- Ever lose your sunglasses in the ocean?
Well see how edlee can improve your overall sunlgass experience!
Over the past year and a half at edlee, our goal has been about sharing our experiences with everyone around us. Now we want YOU to share the experience with those around you with our Buy One, Share One initiative through this Shared Experiences campaign. When you back our Shared Experiences campaign on Kickstarter, you will be able to send another pair of edlee sunglasses to anyone you want, anywhere in the world, so they may share in the edlee experience with you.
How? Every backer will receive the pair(s) they ordered and then be able to send a pair of Standard Line edlee sunglasses to anyone they wish. When you receive your survey, you will be asked which pair you want for yourself, then be asked which Standard Line of edlee sunglasses you would like to share and the person's name and address. When we ship your edlees to you, we will also ship a pair to whoever you choose!

Improving Your Experience
At edlee, we have thought through every detail of your sunglass experience: from placing your order, opening up our bamboo box for the first time, placing on your edlees, and even including if something were to happen to your edlees. This is why we have new policies in place to ensure an overall amazing experience.
Having talked to A LOT of people, we know that one of the biggest pain points is when you scratch, break, or even lose your sunglasses. Well, edlee has found a solution for you. Once you receive your edlees, simply register them online. If ever damaged, LOST, or STOLEN, we will send you a one-time-replacement* pair of your exact sunglasses, NO QUESTIONS ASKED!
*Sorry, #NoQuestionsAsked is only for those who back our project, not for those who receive a free pair.
If for any reason your edlee sunglasses get damaged, we will replace them for the sunglasses’ lifetime, guaranteed! Just send back the damaged pair, pay for shipping and handling, and you will receive the same edlees as before.
edlee offers high end, quality bamboo and wooden polarized sunglasses so you can live the beach culture wherever you are.
A tireless process goes into the manufacturing of our sunglasses. Unlike most sunglasses made of metal or plastic (which are processed through machines from beginning to end), we hand sand, hand paint, and hand inspect every one of our sunglasses so they are perfect when you receive them.
Light weight, flex hinges, hand sanded edges with the warm touch of bamboo and wood -- these are not your typical sunglasses. You can wear them running, skiing, on the boat, on the beach, or while driving. They are truly the most comfortable pair of sunglasses you will ever wear - we guarantee it!
Everyone has a story of losing a pair of sunglasses over a boat, in the lake, or in the ocean. Worry no more! edlee sunglasses float to the surface, so you will never have to worry about losing them to the water again.
*Note - Standard Line only floats with edlee ShadeStrap attached
Sight is one of our most important senses that we have, yet we damage and fatigue our sense of sight every day we go outside into the bright sun. Anyone who plans on going outside should wear eye protection from the sun. Protecting our eyes is most important when when we go out on the water, snow, or any place where light is reflected (including windows, buildings, or wet surfaces after rain). Polarized lenses protect your eyes from UV light by specifically blocking out reflective light off of these surfaces. This is why all edlee sunglasses come with polarized lenses: to protect your eyes from damaging reflective sunlight.
New edlee Styles:
For those who are very active outdoors, the wrap-around style is very important for a tight fit and to block out as much sun from all angles. The Mongos offer a wrap-around frame with a beefy athletic look. If you want sunglasses that won't move, that will minimize sun glare and will intimidate your opponent, the Mongos are here for you!

What comes with your order?
Why Kickstarter Again? The decision to come back to the Kickstarter community was easy. The support we gained from our first campaign was unbelievable. With the combination of new styles and our desire to share the edlee experience with as many people as possible around the world, it was a no-brainer to reach out to the same Kickstarter community that helped us get edlee started.
We are looking to raise a minimum of $5,000 to help fund our new styles and initiate our Buy One, Share One initiative. With this, our backers will have an opportunity to receive a pair of edlee’s for under or at wholesale cost. Our backers will also get this limited time offer to be able to share a pair of edlee’s with someone they know at no extra cost.

We then chose from various colors and finishes. We received back samples of different components of our new designs and requested modifications as needed.
From here, we received our new samples. After measuring and verifying them to the new specifications, we were sure to make sure they looked perfect!
A word from the Founder
Hey Kickstarter backers!
I'm Garrett and I am the founder of edlee. I grew up in the North East and moved out to California almost 4 years ago. I was an aerospace engineer for 10 years and was greatly influenced by the southern California life. Living right near the beach and taking in the SoCal culture, I decided to leave my engineering position and start my own business.
When I founded edlee, I wanted to provide people with a way to live the beach lifestyle and be able to express themselves where ever they were. This is how edlee came to be. What better way to represent beach culture and let people express themselves than with bamboo and wooden polarized sunglasses!
Over the past two years, was have had the opportunity to meet a lot of people. During this time, we found that people wanted to improve their sunglass experience and find ways to share their experiences. This is why we decided to have our Buy One, Share One initiative and why we wanted to launch it through Kickstarter. We came to Kickstarter at the beginning of this year and got an unbelievable response. We wanted to come back to the same amazing community and give you the opportunity to be the first to buy a pair and share a pair with someone you love. So thank you for checking out our campaign and get out there See The World!
Risks and challenges
First, we want to thank all of our previous backers for their patience through our first campaign. We ran into unforeseen issues, delaying our process and bypassing our deadline by two months. However, these issues have enabled us to correct the process for a more streamlined experience and we have outlined the measures below for your peace of mind and our accountability for this campaign.
- We have discussed with our manufacturer the need for high volume at the scheduled time (Feb-Mar 2017). For our first campaign, our goal was $5,000 and we did more than 10x that amount. Our supplier is now prepared for us if we raise more than $1 Million!
- We have also brought on another manufacturer so we do not have a single point of failure.
- We will no longer be shipping from our garage and printing our own labels. We will be using a distributor, who is fully prepared for high volume packaging and shipping.
- We now have a team which is ready to better provide customer support to you throughout the entire process from your pledge, through the campaign, your survey, down to the delivery of your shipment and beyond.
