About this project
Paperclipmag.com is a site that features profiles of professionals highlighting how they bring their personal style aesthetic into their work environments. In the profiles, I discuss favorite brands that professionals rely on for clothing, beauty, jewelry and accessories, and their essential work tools such as cloud services, apps, and office supplies. I also ask how these individuals stay motivated and productive each day.
Paperclipmag's topic of style + work places a different perspective on items that are currently discussed in lifestyle and interior design publications/sites. People spend so much time, effort and heart in their careers, and I like putting a very fresh focus on professionals who appreciate an elevated focus on their style at work.
The "memos" section on Paperclipmag is all about enhancing life at work. I highlight a variety of products and ideas for professionals to include in their work environments. So far, the memos have not be sponsored, so these are purely items that I bring to the forefront of a workplace conversation.
There are sixteen profiles and over seventy memos live currently. I have a new profile almost ready to publish on the site. It is exciting for me to discover and meet these professionals. I really enjoy uncovering their style secrets for their wardrobe as well as their workspace while also gaining productivity tips and career advice. I find this content inspirational on so many levels and would like to continue to further this concept.
Project funding goal is $40,000
With this amount of support, I will be able to afford to develop and promote new profile and memo content to attract corporate sponsors and advertisers for the site. I will also expand to include video content as well. The images that Aaron takes for the site are stunning and I know that to include video content will only enhance the audience's experience.
Your money would be used for the following:
- photography for many, many more photo shoots
- more profile short and long-form content with built-in product links
- props for photo shoots (flowers for profiles and memo products)
- banner advertising on design themed sites
- travel for profiles located outside of Dallas, Texas
- video production and editing
- Adobe CC software subscription
Risks and challenges
Paperclip is completely my concept, but it's also my challenge to create content quickly enough to drive traffic, build and hold an audience and attract corporate sponsors and advertisers. After producing as many profiles as I have, I feel very confident in my ability to continue to push this concept forward with fresh content.
I'm also looking into adjusting the design of the site to be responsive so that it's easier to read on any device. Currently, content development comes first, but I realize the need to make the site more mobile friendly.
I appreciate your time in reading through my project and I hope you will support me in continuing to develop Paperclipmag's content.
Thank you very much -
