10/28 - New Recording Date - December 8, 2013
The studio called us earlier today to discuss new recording date options, and we now have Sunday, December 8, 2013 on hold for our recording session. We still have to make sure that it doesn't conflict with the musicians' schedules, but since we are hiring a smaller ensemble, it shouldn't be too difficult to work out.
Backers who will be tuning into the live internet stream or attending the session can expect us to be recording from 10am-1pm, with a short break for lunch, and then again from 2pm-5pm.
Even with the studio delay, we're still hopeful to release the digital album by the end of December, but the physical rewards will likely have to be manufactured in January, due to the coming holiday season. We'll know more as we get closer to December.

Pokémon Reorchestrated is a project dedicated to creating orchestral arrangements of music from the Pokémon video game franchise. Joining the team this time is the director of the former Zelda Reorchestrated project, Eric Buchholz, for a new collaborative effort: Double Team!
- Double Team! is 30-minute collection of all-new orchestral arrangements that takes some of the best musical themes from the Pokémon games, and transforms them into beautiful arrangements performed by a professional string ensemble.
- Our initial ensemble will include five string players, with room for expansion if we surpass our goal. We won't be recording other instruments like brass or woodwinds. (Not this time, at least!)
- Each of us will be arranging one track from each generation, with the potential inclusion of music from Pokémon X and Y!
- This Kickstarter is only 21 days. Why the hurry, you ask? Because we want to see this album released by the end of the year! The sooner we fund the Kickstarter, the sooner we can get in the studio. We have to keep in mind that it can take a while for the funds to become spendable after all of the transactions have been made.
We'd like to record the album at Studio X, located in downtown Seattle, Washington. This is the same studio where Microsoft likes to record a lot of their big projects, like Halo and Age of Empires. Our current tentative recording date is Sunday, December 8, 2013.
Eric Buchholz is a composer/orchestrator and has contributed to a number of professional video game music projects including Play! A Video Game Symphony, The Legend of Zelda 25th Anniversary Symphony, and The Legend of Zelda: Symphony of the Goddesses. Eric was also the director of Zelda Reorchestrated, a fan initiative that recently completed Twilight Symphony, a three-and-a-half hour arrangement album of music from The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, which was funded right here on Kickstarter.
Braxton Burks is a composer/orchestrator as well as the creator of Pokémon Reorchestrated and the iTunes chart-topping Kanto Symphony: a 78-minute orchestral arrangement album of music from Pokémon Red and Blue, which was funded right here on Kickstarter. In addition to his work on Double Team!, he is currently producing music for a Generation II Pokémon arrangement album entitled Johto Legends.
Double Team! is not officially associated with The Pokémon Company, Nintendo, or any other affiliates. However, we are once again working with Joypad Records to ensure proper licensing falls into place. This will allow us to distribute the final album on Loudr, iTunes, and even physical albums. It also means that the copyright holders of the music will receive the proper amount of royalties as mandated by federal law.
Risks and challenges
Our biggest challenge will be finishing the project in the amount of time that we would like to--by the end of December. Our timeline will mostly be influenced by studio availability, and things might also be further complicated by the coming holiday season. If for some reason things don't go the way we planned, we will do our best to ensure a timely release at the beginning of 2014.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
