Do we want to eat away our planet or do we want to leave something for the generation to come?
Eat me! is a short musical film, about our relationship to food and its waste, and how that reflects in our relationships with each other. It is an absurd and grotesque story with accents on what we eat and where it comes from. And as the the saying goes, “you are what you eat.” The story also references the fact that the way we treat food reflects the way we live, love and relate to other people.
Eat Me! Aims to bring awareness to those problems in a funny and creative way that appeals to a broad audience. We believe we can inspire people to learn more about where their food comes from and the impact it has, and act locally to achieve common global goals. Music is the universal language and it plays a central part in the story of the film. Musically and visually, we're inspired by classical musicals such as “ Cabaret, “ Hair” and “Chicago.” The story isn’t set in a particular time and country although it has strong allusions to contemporary society. The approximate length of the film is 20 minutes. It's in English, and we'd like as many people as possible, of all ages and walks of life, to see it.
Everybody loves a good story with a twist, and so do we. We won't tell you the spoilers but we'll give you a trail ;) Laura is a beautiful girl who starts slipping from the daily reality of a weight obsessed rich man's mistress. While on a fancy dinner with her gluttonous lover, Robert, she enters a strange world where food dances and sings. The whirlwind of dance blows the air out of Laura's head and she becomes a different type of girl…

Filmmaking has become cheaper with the coming of digital technology, but it's still unbelievably expensive. We've already received support from several prestigious organizations, including the socially engaged Heinrich Böll Foundation, and the National Palace of Culture in Sofia, Bulgaria, and we have almost completed shooting. But we still have to shoot another short scene, and renting the professional studio we need is not cheap. Inspired by the film's cause, most of the team have been working for minimal or no pay. However, we do need money for CGI and post production.
It may surprise you, but sending a film out to festivals and distributing it also costs quite a bit. The bottom line is, we need the money to complete the film in the best and most professional way. We really believe in the positive outcome, and rely on your support.

Risks and challenges
The challenges we have had to face with Eat Me! all stemmed from the need to create a visually and musically stimulating film on a shoestring budget. We're lucky to say we've managed to meet those challenges in the process. Yes, it has been a struggle, but we believe in what we're doing and that is our fuel. We're on the final stretch now, so there is no risk of the film not being made. But we need the quality of the final vision and sound to be on par with the quality and contents of the already shot footage, so we've turned to you, the audience, for support. We have calculated our costs so that your perks will get delivered. We don't expect it, In case there are any delays with shipping, we will be in touch. In this way, you're not risking anything and investing in a good cause.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
