Greetings! I'm looking for backers to publish my second book--Clean Endurance: The Plant-Based Scratch Kitchen Cookbook. My book has 100 recipes that use no animal products (so no meat, dairy, cheese, or eggs), no refined grains (also gluten-free), refined sugars, or refined oils--but maximum flavor!
Clean Endurance is an upgrade from my first published cookbook, Fusion Roots. The new book contains more recipes added to the original, plus new content on superfoods and phytonutrients, new fonts, new title and cover, and chapter design. I've once again used my personal savings (saved from teaching plant-based cooking seminars) to upgrade my first book to the new book: Clean Endurance. I hired a professional graphic designer to do the layout and pages setup (for both books). However, I am the sole author and photographer. I have also completed the filing of the copyright and book digital identifying number (ISBN), including a barcode (see below for cookbook sample photos).
I plan to print a limited first run of the book of less than 500 copies. If I exceed my funding goal, I may use the funds to recoup some of my personal investment in the development and layout of the book, plus pay for the free shipping and handling of the books. I have a professional book printing press in Idaho (USA) ready to print to books once the funds are secure.
A bit about myself: I was a life-long vegetarian. But when my father died suddenly of a heart attack, I quick being vegetarian and went "all in" with a whole foods plant-based lifestyle. Since going plant-based, my energy is up, my weight is down, my cholesterol and blood pressure have also dropped. I found this new lifestyle too good not to share. Since then, I've become a certified plant-based chef educator (graduated from a professional plant-based culinary program, have a certificate in plant-based nutrition from e-Cornell, and am a certified cooking instructor with the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine). I've taught well over 50 plant-based cooking and wellness seminars and reached thousands of people in my seminars and YouTube cooking channel. In my day job, I've worked for over 25 years in population-based public health, with over 10 years in healthy eating, physical activity, and health promotion. My passions are backcountry Nordic skiing and endurance cycling on gravel roads. I find that eating clean, plant-based foods, gives me the endurance, recovery, and mental acuity to manage the daily grind in the office and gravel grinding remote roads. Risks and challenges
With all book print projects, there can be short delays due to print shop issues, such as rush jobs which may bump your print job down on the list. However, I already have a solid relationship with this print shop and their staff. They are located in the USA (Idaho) and I can talk to them on the phone. Since I've already developed the book, the layout, and the book is digitally ready for printing--there should be minimal disruption to the books printing and August release.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
