Digital Artist Residency supports artist to realise projects which use digital media. DAR is a not-for-profit, independent initiative and doesn't charge applicants fees to submit proposals or charge for support they receive.
DAR is raising funds to help support the Emerging Artists in Residence programme. EAiR will support 6 artists, providing them with artists fees as well as budget for materials and travel. It will provide mentoring as well as space to develop their project through an online residency and physical exhibition. The selected artists will be supported further by both Digital Artist Residency and OVADA's experienced staff through marketing and promotion as well as on-site advice.
This programme is specifically designed to support emerging talent in the field of Digital Visual Arts and aims to nurture artists which may be from all part of the UK at the start of their career. It assists in the development of recent graduates and new talent with funded opportunities to make work and provides a network of professional support.
Risks and challenges
The participants will be working hard to develop new work. Challenges that face them include: costs of producing work for the exhibition including material and travel costs. The more we raise will help support and allow artists to be more ambitious with their projects. Additional funding may allow them to put on extra performance evenings, do an artist talk or create a larger scale installation as part of their exhibition.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
