How do I get my questions answered about Shipping and what will be included in the Pledge Manager, at what prices, and how, in general, will that Pledge Manager work?
Short Answer: Send a us a direct message on Kickstarter.
Long Answer: Our Pledge Manager, Ruth Cumberbatch, is just arriving back in the US today (July 20) from the UK, and will soon be answering the Messages that have come in. It always helps us if you will send your shipping and Pledge Manager questions to Ruth via KS Messages instead of leaving them as Comments here. They are much easier for us to keep track of and respond to via Messages and so you are much more likely to get answers by leaving a Message for Ruth there! Thanks for your help with this.Last updated:
We will get a list of the Add-Ons and prices out to you as soon as we have it. But because not all of our warehouses have all of our products (and it is really expensive to send them out a second time, after they have made it there and sold out the first time) it is not as easy a task to sort out as it might seem. We will need your patience and tolerance as we get this together. Expect an Update about this in the near future!Last updated:
YES! That NEW Gallerist Scoring expansion will be available for $7 on this Escape Plan PledgeManager. It will retail for a $10 MSRP when it is released next year, but for Backers of this Kickstarter who order it as part of their PledgeManager order, they will be able to get it for $7. The Escape Plan Kickstarter will end August 10. The EP PledgeManager should run from around August 25-ish for about 30 days.Last updated:
The French translation is almost done and will be posted in 4-5 days.
The German translation is underway and should be done in 8-10 days.
There will be translations done in Italian, Spanish, Polish, Dutch, Portuguese, Chinese, Korean, and Japanese. But as of now we do not have specific dates or translators for these languages. If interested in applying to translate into these langues, please contact us via Messages. (Rick, for Eagle-Gryphon Games, July 20)Last updated:
It is in the same size box as The Gallerist, Vinhos and Lisboa -- i.e. it's BIG! We don't know the weight yet but it will likely be heavier than both The Gallerist and Vinhos, and approaching that of Lisboa, if not more. We are talking about a VERY full box here.Last updated:
We will only charge you the amount that it costs us to ship to you. We are not making a profit on shipping, and we do not like for it to be expensive for you but to some places in the world, it just is! We have worked out some very nice arrangements with various distributors of various sorts in various countries and areas around the world. When we can, we ship in bulk to those distributors and they then package and label and pay the local postage to ship the games out to you. We simply charge you what it costs us to get these games to them in bulk, and then the rest of the "shipping" charge is based on what they tell us the remaining costs (for their services) and local postage is. This works quite well in most places, but not so good in others, hence the seemingly discrepant estimates that appear in our shipping chart. We will continue to explore the best alternatives we can find for Escape Plan between now and its delivery date and we will charge you only what the actual shipping costs to you end up being.Last updated:
Here is the answer I just sent to a Backer from Brazil:
NOTE: Backers from Brazil may pledge for any USA pledge level as their pledges must come from the U.S. (see below)
In the past, various (3 or 4) companies in Brazil have tried to be the shipping distributor for all the games ordered by Backers in Brazil. But it never seems to work out for them because the import fees charged by the Brazil Customs authorities and/or other government fees/taxes are so high in Brazil. So now we charge shipping to Brazil directly from our US warehouse to the individual Backer in Brazil. And the $75 for Escape Plan to a Backer in Brazil is what we are told will be the cost, unless some new and better way is found in the next 8-12 months. We are very sorry for this but really, there seems to be nothing that we can do about it. Do you know of a solution? Because we are out of new ideas to try.Last updated:
Pledges for backers from Norway ship from the EU, they are eligible for pledges labeled as EU only.
Martinique ships from the US, so backers from Martinique have access to all US pledge levels.Last updated:
The reason for the limits is the amount of stock on hand in any given warehouse. We use warehouses in the US (Kentucky); and in the EU (Enschede, the Netherlands); and Asia (China) and Australia (Sydney).
The limited pledges are currently limited to stock on hand in each of those warehouses.
All the games are printed in China, and so when they are newly printed (e.g. Escape Plan) a certain quantity is sent to each location.
This quantity is based on proportional Kickstarter demand; pre-order demand; and guesswork. Supplementation to existing stock then only occurs when games are reprinted (and in sufficient quantity to justify shipping at least a pallet of them to any given warehouse). So it is a question of the right game existing in sufficient quantity and the timing being right. All "extras" end up in our Kentucky warehouse. And it makes no economic sense at all to ship them again to the EU, Australia or back to China.
For instance, we are printing up more Gallerist copies in the next few months because stock is low at all locations. As a result, we will have more stock of that specific game in all locations before, or at the time Escape Plan is printed up.
But as of now there are no plans to reprint Lisboa or Vinhos given the overall stock we have of these games (concentrated in the US). Thus there is not now, nor will there be, sufficient stock in Asia or Australia, or in the EU, to offer more than limited quantities of certain pledge level bundles.Last updated:
Can we receive our additional games (e.g. Gallerist, Lisboa, Vinhos) in advance and not wait for shipping them at the same time as Escape Plan?
No, we will only ship to one location once, so all games will need to wait to be shipped with Escape Plan once it is ready. The reason, of course, is the already-expensive enough shipping expense (and also to avoid much more complicated logistics and the inevitable problems and mistakes associated with double shipping). Sorry, but we have had lots of past confusion and problems when we attempted to make exceptions to this so we simply will no longer try it.Last updated:
The retail MSRP of Escape Plan will be $120. We do not know the entire contents of the "KS Pack" of additional stuff for Escape Plan so we do not have a final figure for the MSRP of that item yet, but we estimate that it will fall somewhere between $16 and $22 USD.Last updated:
All of the copies we print of Escape Plan will have an English rules set. We are also working with translators in various languages (so far French and German are close to being done; and translators are working on Spanish, Italian and Korean versions as we speak). Other translations will eventually be done as well. But generally we will not attempt to print any of these other language versions. The small quantities needed make printing expenses excessive. There will be some exceptions but you will need to ask our print partners in each language what form, if any, their printed versions will take. For instance, I am quite sure (but make no promises) that Philibert plans to issue a printed version of the French rules, but I am not sure what form this printed version will take -- so you will need to ask them directly. It will take some time for the translations to be done, playtested and approved. They will be made available to you digitally for you to copy as you wish. But many translations have not yet been started. You will need to be patient but eventually I am quite sure there will be numerous translations available for you to copy.Last updated:
Railways of Portugal will be an expansion of the Railways of the World series. It will be in the same size and type of box as other expansions to that series such as Railways of Europe, and Railways of Great Britain. It will likely consist of just the new board/map; and new Operations cards (and maybe Vital has something new up his sleeve to add -- even we do not know?).
But YES, you will need either the ROTW base game OR the new Railways of Nippon base game to play Railways of Portugal. One of those two base games are needed to supply the necessary track tiles; engines; money; bonds; etc. to play the new expansion Railways of Portugal by Vital Lacerda.
We are planning the Kickstarter for Railways of Portugal to be launched in May, 2019. Thanks for your interest.Last updated:
