This Is Only A Test returns players to a much simpler time in 1950's America when you only had to worry about who was going to the sock hop, whether the Reds were going to invade, and if a nuclear bomb was going to drop in your backyard.
Players re-create the ever present fear, anxiety, and heaps of neighborly suspicion as they vie for resources to survive what may come.
This Is Only A Test uses a unique timeline mechanic that keeps the players in suspense as the game heads toward an unknown conclusion at an unknown time. The timeline may contain the Red Invades card or the Atomic Bomb Drops card. Then again, it may not and This Is Only A Test.
Players can use their actions to investigate the timeline, or (better yet) manipulate it to press for their preferred ending by visiting City Hall. Each location in City Hall allows players to manipulate the timeline in different ways. Want the bomb to drop? Visit the Mayor's Office and start adding bomb cards to the timeline!
When the game ends, the player who has prepared the best for the corresponding ending will win! So, if the Atomic bomb drops, you had better have the most supplies in your Fallout Shelter, but if the Reds invade, self-defense items will rule the day. What happens if the bomb doesn't drop or the Reds don't invade? Well, This is Only a Test, of course! And, the Golden Rule applies - the person with the most glorious riches wins!
Panic is building and you must negotiate for supplies in anticipation of a Red invasion or the dropping of the Atomic bomb. Will you stockpile heaps of supplies, defend yourself to the teeth, or simply profit from other’s paranoia? The Red Army looms! The A-bomb is armed! Is it time to duck and cover? Or perhaps...This Is Only A Test.
The game plays 1-4 players (Solo rules are included!) Play time is 45-60 mins. Ages 10 and up!

- We pledge to KS Backers that all backers, of any sort, who have paid in advance, will be sent their copies before any others who have not backed in advance. This means that you will be shipped your game before or at the same time as retailers who have backed via KS/PIP and paid in advance; and international distributors who have backed and paid in advance; and those who have backed on PledgeManager and paid in advance.
- We pledge to you that, for a period of at least 90 days after the last of the scheduled shipments are made (pursuant to the pledge above) to any of those who have paid in advance for the game, we will only sell this game: 1) at full retail MSRP on our own Eagle-Gryphon website; or any other website--e.g. Amazon or eBay, controlled by Eagle-Gryphon Games; 2) at conventions which occur at the time of release of the game or within 90 days of the release of the game.
- In other words, we pledge to do our best, within reason, to insure that you will be among the very first owners of this game and that you will have purchased this game at a price significantly less than you will be able to buy this game for at least the first 90 days after it is released to the public.
Doug and Carl represent 2/3rds of the 2 Ton Porcupine design studio. They have been designing games for the better part of 10 years. After years of design and testing, they are excited to team up with Eagle-Gryphon to bring This is Only a Test to your table!
Doug did a stint on The Dice Tower as The Board Game Baker. He has been playing games since the Advanced D&D days. He's an omni-gamer, enjoying war games like Flames of War, board games like Anachrony, and RPG's like D&D 5th edition. He also the artist and graphic designer for This Is Only A Test. He has designed the recent KS game KAPOW! and has also been the graphic designer and Artist for the Chimera and More trick taking game from Eagle-Gryphon Games.
Carl is a long time-time competitive card player and helped design CCGs and TCGs in 2000s. He has since moved on to board gaming as co-designer of Kapow!, This Is Only A Test, and lead design on the upcoming Town Square.
All Add-Ons for this project are included in the reward tiers and/or will be handled AFTER the project within PledgeManager. There are no separate Add-Ons during the project.
If you'd like to add additional copies, or other menu items, to your pledge beyond what is available in the reward tiers, you may do so within PledgeManager after the project.
Do not add to your KS pledge for add-ons. You will pay for them in PledgeManager after the project ends.

Eagle-Gryphon Games has completed 75+ Kickstarter projects to date. All of those projects have either been completely delivered or are in production right now.
Eagle-Gryphon Games stands by our products. Please contact our customer service department at email@example.com within 30 days of receiving your pledge reward(s) if you are for any reason unsatisfied. We will take every step available to get you exactly what you purchased. We will also send you tracking information whenever possible to remain transparent throughout the delivery of your purchase.
We will always do our best through Kickstarter updates to keep you as informed as possible as to the status of your game(s). However, in this business some uncertain factors are beyond our control, such as holidays, customs, quality control, inspection delays, inclement weather and dock strikes - to name a few. Please understand we have little to no control over such factors. We assure you that you will be the first to know any developments as we learn them.
Put simply: you will get everything we promise to you when you pledge to one of our Kickstarter projects, and it will be delivered to you in as timely a manner as possible.
We reserve the right to combine the shipping of any and all pledges for multiple projects if the shipping runs close to the same time and we can ship them all within a reasonable time frame (30 days) of us receiving them. We will advise you as soon as possible if it looks like we will delay shipping for this reason. You will always have the right to pay additional fees to get expedited delivery on orders.
Shipping issues are relatively uncommon, but they do sometimes occur. We double check all of your games for damage before sending them to you.
