It’s 2013 and the time has come. The time has come for Electric Six to give the fans what they want. What they want has been clearly evidenced, made manifest by pleas and demands made of the band. What they want is a live DVD and Electric Six intends to give it to them, to YOU, in 2013. The time is now. This is the moment. The choice is yours, as you can get behind this effort and help Electric Six make it happen. Live DVD, to be entitled "Absolute Treasure." 2013.
Filming a live show is a complicated endeavor and Electric Six has no intention of getting involved in such a thing unless it’s done the right way. Absolute Treasure will be shot on September 7, 2013 in the band’s hometown of Detroit, Michigan, at the legendary St. Andrew’s Hall (once referred to by Spin Magazine as “the most dangerous nightclub in America.” That was ridiculous. Nevertheless, it’s a great, great venue). This will be a multi-camera shoot by our friends at The Work, so when you back this project, you’re going to get an Electric Six show worthy of your money...it’s going to look spectacular and the band is going to be playing in its element, at home, in front of what is consistently one of the best crowds we see anywhere in the world. It’s being filmed in HD and will be available in both DVD and Blu Ray formats, in all regions. We’re also using the same folks for the audio side who were responsible for the band’s 2012 live album “Absolute Pleasure,” so it’s going to sound great as well, not always a given with DVD recordings. A man of Bill Kozy’s stature won’t ever let you down on the sound. Because this project needs to be done in a first-class fashion, it won’t be cheap...but we believe that you, the fans of Electric Six, the true crazies, want this to happen as badly as we do and will support this project accordingly.
To make it a truly rewarding experience for supporters, Electric Six is offering a host of unique packages at all different pricing levels. Probably the most exciting of these is the Extras DVD, which will feature a host of unique features including the deepest interview ever done with the band. It will also include all kinds of behind the scenes hijinks and maybe even some special short films as well (what it won’t include is any of the band’s videos, so don’t bother asking). The Extras disc package also comes with a photo booklet, filled with rare shots of E6 memorabilia, candid photos of the band, etc. However, we’ve got all kinds of stuff available to you, depending upon your ability to contribute. From signed stage-worn clothing to an executive producer credit where you not only get listed in the credits but acknowledged DURING THE SHOW, if you’re truly crazy for E6, you can find something which will pique your interest. Also, though we've indicated we'll autograph certain items already in the package descriptions, we'll be happy to sign anything you want other than the DVD/Blu Ray itself (or the case of same). Just let us know when we reach out concerning delivery.
The show will be filmed in September and our intention is to deliver the goods to contributors in early 2014. This is going to be a blast and any E6 fan should come along and enjoy the ride with us. Our understanding is that all relevant shipping information (mailing address, sizes, etc.) is collected at the end of the campaign, so don't worry if you're not asked for it upon donation. We will get it from you in early/mid April, when the campaign has ended.
Risks and challenges
We don't anticipate any major challenges in completing this project. The show will be filmed in September of 2013 and our delivery date of February 2014 allows us ample time to complete editing and production of the DVDs. Most all of the special items offered in our packages are already in our possession or involve events fully within our control as part of upcoming live shows, so those should not pose any issues either in terms of fulfillment. Should we face any delays, we plan on communicating with backers via email and plan on doing that anyway as we update our progress through the editing process.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
The band will gladly autograph any of the items other than the DVDs or Blu Rays. If you'd like those autographed, we'll be happy to do so at any show, if you see us on the street, etc. When the time comes and we contact you for your shipping address and any other relevant information we need from you, just let us know if you'd like your poster, shirt, or whatever else signed and we'll make it happen.
If you want multiple rewards, you will have to create two separate Kickstarter accounts (meaning you'll need two email addresses; you won't need two payment accounts) and back them separately. We wish it were easier, but hopefully this isn't too much of a burden to prevent you from realzing your dreams in multipled fashion.
As stated above, we are producing these discs in all relevant regional formats. When we contact you at the end of the campaign for your shipping information, you are guaranteed that your DVD or Blu Ray will be produced in the appropriate region format for you.
Will the bonus disc be available after the campaign is over (i.e., will I be able to buy it at an E6 show in the future)?
No. The bonus disc will only be sold HERE as part of this Absolute Treasure Kickstarter campaign. Once dey gone, dey gone. The bonus disc is going to be VERY much worth owning, with interviews, behind the scenes footage and short films.
If I buy the Blu Ray set (or any of the packages which include it), do I get a digital download of the concert disc as well?
