I cannot find the simplify 3d config file can someone point me to it?I had the cura but now i need the simplify ..

    6. Austin Fiedler on April 25, 2016

@david viola don't know if you got the X carriage belt figured out, but you have to turn it the other way, to the left. Loosening it pushes the printed part out farther which tightens the belt tension
Took me a while to figure that out
      Lol

    7. BlueBeetle on April 21, 2016

@David Viola Update #26, it still isn't publicly released which is why you aren't finding a direct link. If you are a backer (everyone in the comments section is) then clicking this link will bring you to the page you need, follow the instructions onscreen.

    12. John P Escaleira on April 19, 2016

@Jeremy the X part you're referring to was not used in the end. You just need the 2 wishbone shaped parts, nothing will be used in the center of the heated bed. Don't forget to join the forum for assistance with your build questions and support to your issues such as the one below... http://forum.e3d-online.com/

Shipped great. Im missing the black 3d printed "x" part for the bed. I got the other 2 for the sides but no middle.

    14. David Viola on April 17, 2016

The x carriage belt is not getting tighter from turning that tension bolt .So there any answers out there???cool idea but the most stupidest thing there is since you cannot get to it without taking the carriage apart... i am open to ideas....

    15. David Viola on April 11, 2016

@creator with no user manual and nothing online for pre built printers as i can find anyway.. do i just cut the wire on the belt with the plastic that says e3d etc..to the extruder and i am all set cause the belt looks really floppy...even with it tied ...?

    16. David Viola on April 10, 2016

@creator you forgot my plug to power it...

      @ David Viola,
You are getting the Big Box that was described in the campaign, a great 3D printer but certainly not the final 3D printer this company will ever make.

When you back a KickStarter campaign you are backing version 1.0 of the product.
This means that you and the rest of the backers are also beta testers of the firs product. That comes with the territory of backing a campaign such as this.
The company will certainly be improving the product based on our feedback. Then they will sell more Big Boxes to the general public, probably with some improvements based on the feedback from the many users who backed the campaign

You will see many tweaks and mods coming from both from the creators and the backers in the days ahead, because the 3D printing community is a community of DIY makers.

Just relax and focus on doing the build. To me it is exciting to hear from the creators that there will be some options available that are backwards compatible to our builds.

Be glad that the improvements they're talking about will be backwards compatible to our version. Most companies will do a Kickstarter version of their product, and then soon after release a version for the general public that has features that are only available by buying the version 2. That is very typical KS business plan.

Kickstarter campaigns are not to get the best product the company will ever make. They are to back the company so they can get started with a good product, and then continue on making more and better products in the future. There will always will be room for improvement with any product.

    18. David Viola on April 4, 2016

My opinion complete the campaign and shipping wait a bit then talk about the tweaks not during .. it makes me think i am not getting there best ...that is all i am saying...

    19. Missing avatar

David Siegfried on April 3, 2016

They never said the tweaks were free. But they did say they were backwards compatible. So presumably you can order the tweaks later.

Eric Satterfield on April 3, 2016

David Viola: Actually, even if they held it back another month for you - you still wouldn't get the tweaks. I'm one of the very last backers, so mine hasn't shipped yet. The tweaks are going to be for preorders only. That means even if yours didn't ship until near the end of April, like mine might, you still wouldn't get v1.1 as that's for preorders only instead of Kickstarter backers. Besides, right now we have no idea what the tweaks are - if they're just printed part updates it would be trivial to update it ourselves.

    21. David Viola on April 3, 2016

what should i coat the wood with?

    22. David Viola on April 2, 2016

i am just saying i get an email saying mine is on it's way .then i get a email saying that got some tweaks in the next few weeks.. that is where i am coming from.. you could have kept mine what was another month?

    23. Missing avatar

      sgllama on April 2, 2016

@David Viola - as there is a continual stream of tweaks being tried out over on the forums, as well as whatever secret plans the creators have had in mind for a while, I rather expect that the design they ship will continue to be tweaked for as long as they are in production. So if you wait until The Final BigBox Version, Ever! then that could be quite a long time...

    24. David Viola on April 1, 2016

you are shipping mine now .....And now you plan little tweaks etc?? why not hold off on shipping mine and finalize your tweaks????

Never mind I found it on the wiki
By any chance is there a printer friendly version of the guide?

    34. Austin Fiedler on March 17, 2016

I remember seeing it at one point, but where do I get the build manual? Just got my box this morning and I thought it might have included a physical guide but I didn't get one

    35. Markus Strässle on March 17, 2016

#247 in Switzerland: Arrived yesterday. I'm very excited to have the hands on. The build manual is quite understandable and the most parts are fitting nicely to each other so far. It's fun to build but it will take quite a bit time. :) Thank you!

I (333) expect mine next week

    44. Austin Fiedler on March 15, 2016

Is there anyway of knowing how quickly the rest of the orders are going to be sent out once shipping is once again resumed? I hate to sound like a pessimist but I'm starting to feel like hoping to get it this year might be a stretch
I boxed up my solidoodle press months ago and I must tinker!

I'd just like to say that, going into the build I was a little bit afraid - having never done something like this before - but confidence grew and after 3 days the lights were on. Now routinely turn out beautiful prints of stunning dimensional accuracy after an idle minimum of calibration. This machine is a workhorse and the epitome of, way more than the sum of its parts. It's clear that the enthusiastic community of backers continue to inspire @creator to do their best work whilst bringing tidbits of their own. This is a cumulative beyond awesome: quite frankly guys, on kickstarter - indeed in life! - what were the chances?
