When Cutie Met Patootie is a tabletop game from a rich storyline brought to you via a fun, narrative Kickstarter campaign. A narrative campaign just means that throughout this campaign, we will learn the story of the game characters through time-released animations. In fact, the first video is right above! In Chapter 1, we learn of how the Visitors arrived on Earth and what their mission is, outlined by the gameplay.
In Chapter 2, we are introduced to the Citizens of Kodiak Harbor and how Cutie gets mixed up in all of this.
In Chapter 3, we discover just how Rewind managed to make it to Earth in the first place.
In Chapter 4, we find out if our heroes succeed or succumb to Rewind's flood!
When Cutie Met Patootie is a turn-based resource and hand management game. In the box, you'll find 162 cards, 150 acrylic gems, and 10 Visitor Pawns.
Your goal in the game is to collect and spend gems to move the Visitor Pawns to the top of the map while making sure the Visitors end the game carrying the specific gems which earn you points.
On your turn, you have two options: You can advance one of the Visitor Pawns or distribute gems onto Visitor Cards by playing Path Cards from your hand.
Advance: Using the gems from their respective Visitor Card which match their route requirement, or any two gems in place of a required color, a Visitor Pawn may advance along the path. Sometimes a Pawn may move for free if the Visitor is depicted on the Path Card in the space ahead. Only two pawns are allowed on each space.
Collect Gems: To collect gems, simply play a path card from your hand to disperse the gems shown on that card to the Visitor Card(s) of your choosing. When collecting gems, players can do so slowly or quickly. Quickly means that all gems from a played Path Card depicting the Visitor are given to that same Visitor. Slowly means gems are dispersed however the player wishes otherwise. Collecting gems slowly comes at a risk!
Flood Timer: Rewind is a nasty character who is currently flooding the map! Here's how that works. Every time a player collects gems slowly, a Rewind Card is added to the timer. When the Rewind Card count matches the lowest unflooded row of Path Cards, that row will flood and all Visitors on or below that level will be captured!
Automatic Floods: If ever all Visitors clear a row, that row is flooded by pulling directly from the Rewind Deck instead of the timer counter of cards. In this way, the pressure is always on to beat the flood!
Game End: When the last row has been flooded (Row 4 in 1-2 Player game, Row 3 in 3-4 player game), the game ends. Gems are collected from the surviving Visitor Cards and starting Gems from each surviving Visitor are added to the point groupings. Players reveal their Citizen Cards and score points based on the count of gems!

Risks and challenges
This will be my first published game under The Daniel Zayas Company banner, but it is far from my first experience on the Kickstarter platform or the board game industry. I have officially collaborated on multiple campaigns as a verified Kickstarter Expert for more than a year, and before that, I helped launch 10 campaigns for a major publisher. I currently work as the US Sales Manager for LongPack Games Manufacturing and as a volunteer admin for 30+ board game industry and Kickstarter-related Facebook Groups.
When Cutie Met Patootie is 95% complete. After the campaign's successful completion, I will have the artist get to work on the Citizens of Kodiak Harbor promo cards as well as do a couple UX touchups on the graphic design of the cards. The quotes are in from LongPack Games on production, and I have multiple quotes in place for fulfillment to backers. There really isn't much left to do on the creative side to get this in your hands. It will be mostly logistics from here on out.
As a backer, please expect monthly updates until the campaign fully fulfills. Delays are part of the process, but I have built in enough lead time that I am confident we will ship the games on time or beforehand. I consider you the backer as an integral part of this project for your investment and confidence in me. I want to be as transparent as possible with you through every step of the adventure.
