So much news!

Things are moving at a breakneck pace as I work both on The Little Red Racing Car book and brand – and on the future of Carpe Viam. I don't have a lot of time, but wanted to share an update, so this one has no graphics or design and I'll just share the big stuff.

Sir Stirling Moss is a big fan.

In fact, Sir Stirling has agreed to collaborate on a book with me, which I have titled The Greatest Race, telling the story of his record setting win of the 1955 Mille Miglia in the Mercedes Benz 300 SLR. It's going to be AMAZING, and it is my aim to have it available this October. This does mean that I'll be pushing The Small Silver Speedster to 2015, but what a reason to do so!

New retail partnership in the UK.

The Signature Store is my new retailer in the UK. They just happen to be the official retail partner of Sir Stirling, so we will soon be offering copies of The Little Red Racing Car signed by Sir Stirling, both in the UK and through theLittleRedRacingCar.com. Sir Stirling will also be signing copies at the Goodwood Festival of Speed this year. I'm thinking about an impulse trip over for that, myself…

The Little Red Racing Car speeds to Japan.

There have been multiple international opportunities for a while now, but last week we finally signed the first international translation and merchandising deal for The Little Red Racing Car! I'm excited by the possibilities in Japan and have great publishing partners. The publisher is in contact both with Sir Stirling and with Maserati, and there is the possibility of a book launch event that I won't want to miss.

Loren Long

Shortly after The Little Red Racing Car's release, I sent NY Times Bestselling Author, Loren Long a copy. I'm a big fan of his, and not just a fan. He was also very inspirational in my choosing to do The Little Red Racing Car in the first place. I would read Otis to my son and think every time, "I think I want to attempt something like this". This week, I received a wonderful letter from Loren. He really liked The Little Red Racing Car. He didn't just say polite niceties. He was enthusiastic in his support. I love it when people you respect turn out to be every bit as nice as you imagined them.

Barnes & Noble

While there have been delays in the last couple of months, it seems that we are once again making headway getting The Little Red Racing Car into Barnes & Noble stores US wide (and online internationally). I had reached the point where I thought the deal was dead, but it appears that what was happening behind the scenes may actually be good news!

One last note:

A small number of you are still owed prints/posters. I am sorry for my delay in getting these out. As you can see (oh, and add in the birth of a baby girl!), I have been preposterously busy. That's not a great excuse, but it's the best I've got. So know that I'm aware and am planning to have the last of these prints shipped within the next week or two.

Best Regards and Carpe Viam!,
Dwight Knowlton
