Post Kickstarter Changes

Hi backers,

Just a quick update to keep you all in the loop looking forward. As many of you know, one of the biggest benefits of Kickstarter from a creator's perspective is the invaluable feedback received on the first run of a product. Here are the new production samples that will be going on the market in December - they're still samples so they're not 100%, but I wanted you to see some of the changes based on your feedback!

P.S. We're very close to having every reward out, if you don't have yours in hand right now it will be very soon. Thank you so much for your patience!

Also, I'm trying to figure out the best way to hook up the original backers with the new and improved products that we'll be distributing - I will keep you posted, but know that I want to do whatever I can to get you the final and retail ready versions of the product that you helped create and make happen. More pictures will be coming as I receive additional production samples... Thanks again :-)

I received 2 nanosuction pads but no socket joints or any paperwork such as directions or anything. Was I supposed to get everything in one envelope or is there another envelope on its way? Very confused. Thanks.

I would like to request a full refund also. As I have not received my product also.

Believe it or not I got my product today. Unfortunately, it came with no instructions. As I am not usually a complete idiot, I was able to get the two ends on, however...I received 4 pads of which I am not entirely certain of the use for each. One is thicker than the other. Which one goes where... Any ideas?

I think it's fair to request a refund. I backed early on and waited patiently, but after reading several negative reviews, I would really rather not receive a faulty product, especially after being made to wait so long for it. I feel comfortable in assuming the product has not been sent out, since I was informed it was already to be in my hands...

So I give. I am requesting a full refund for a product I am uncertain I will actually receive.

If your reference of threats was to me, you misinterpreted my comment. It is not a threat. I'm just one man challenging you to man up yourself, take responsibility and communicate HONESTLY with your many frustrated backers.
I have backed 18 projects, all of which have had delays or adjustments, but every one of those project creators gave honest updates. I suggest you look up the Slingshot project by Charles Waugh. He had delays and even a major error in judgment, sending a retail shipment before his backers were shipped. EACH TIME HE POSTED A VIDEO EXPLAINING and PERSONALLY TAKING RESPONSIBILITY for the delays and his mistake.
I think you might have missed the little blue statement underneath the comments box, "Be respectful and considerate."
Calling any backer a "Jackaxx" is certainly neither respectful nor considerate.
Your doing so further demonstrates to me your lack of integrity.
In fact, it was YOU who made a threat when you mentioned having personal information and addresses.
You, sir, are the one who has no business being on Kickstarter.

I too am still waiting for my product. It's sad to say but this was my first and probably my last Kick starter project as it hasn't left a very good taste in my mouth. I keep hearing the rewards are is Christmas

Although I appreciate being addressed directly and receiving some sort of reassurance, its unfortunate that I have yet to receive my stand.

I feel like it would be very little to ask to be informed of when I am expected to really get the stand and a shipping confirmation number to back it up.

I fail to understand why we should be excited about a new round of accessories for a product that does not yet exist for many of us. I understand your excitement to grow, but you are seriously jeopardizing the likelihood that your kicktarter backers will by additional products given that you have not been able to deliver on what they have already paid for.

God sake! Just send me my stand! Worst Kickstarter project I've EVER BACKED!

    13. Chris on October 24, 2013

Dwight, I was one of your early bird backers, and I have not yet received my stand. I've sent you 3 pms in the last 2 months without a response. Getting a little frustrated.

    14. Brian on October 24, 2013

This project has been downright shameful. You have lied to all of your backers about "almost all shipped."
Your lack of integrity is glaring and I have yet to see one honest post from you.
I have waited patiently, trying to give you the benefit of the doubt, but this is RIDICULOUS.

NEVER AGAIN will I back any project of yours, and when I see one, I will post multiple comments warning others of this experience.

What a shame. You could have avoided all of this by being a man of integrity, living up to your word, coming clean with reports of delays and giving AT LEAST weekly updates, but I would have given daily.

Would you give me an update on the ship date of my 'PRO' pledge reward.

I will have to agree with Nick Anselmo. I don't mind waiting trough multiple delays, but sometimes I got the impression that your head is already focused on the next project, and it's frustrating... kinda cool you got some new ideas, but many backers (including me) haven't received the reward yet. I don't have my gekko stand and you're already ready for the 2.0 version, designing new pieces, getting excited about the next step... You need to understand that's it's frustrating to watch you invest time on other projects while the project we backed seems to be idle. Sometimes it's like you don't care anymore about this first batch, and just want to get over with it. Stlil, I can't wait to get mine...

Dwight, it has been difficult to stay neutral throughout this debacle, however I now understand what has happened. You created the product, sent it to get made, obviously had some issues but it's understandable then got super excited and instead if dealing with the issues you had, you started designing new pieces and hardware when your first product was not released yet...i still have not gotten my stand and have lost trust and faith that it will ever come. Very disappointed...

    23. Apit C L on October 17, 2013

It would be great if I had the holder for my iPad2. The sticky pad does not hold my iPad 2 and it fell off of the ipad while I was reading my ebook in bed. But also, the clamp could use more pressure for a better grip. Too bad the rubber pad for the clamp easily comes off.

reposting Dwight's response after the last of many post where I said the product doesn't work
"Geraldine, sorry you're having trouble figuring it out... not sure what else to say as you've had a negative experience and our communication has been everything but constructive. Feel free to send me a PM and we'll figure it out, the message board negativity isn't helping anyone."

To be clear this is the only response I got despite having previously posted the product doesn't work. I read the feedback from other backers where some had similar experiences and some had positive ones. I read the comments Dwight left to specific backers and more general ones. I watched both his video and the one posted by another back who was satisfied with the stand.

My stand does not support the weight of my iPad. It doesn't not fulfill it's intended purpose.
Yes Dwight that is negative, it is impossible to leave positive feedback as the product doesn't work.

I hope this helps other backers know that if there are in position they are not alone.
