Our Latest Kickstarter Launch- The Priority Coast

Posted by Priority Bicycles by Dave Weiner (Creator)

Hi there backers!!  We just launched our latest kickstarter campaign:

What it is:

The Priority Coast is the first beach cruiser built for the beach.  The classic laid back form, but with modern innovations to take on the coastal conditions that break bicycles down.

Why we made The Coast:

The beach cruiser has been unchanged for decades – the problem is that there’s nothing “beach ready” in its design.  Heavy steel is slow, salt water rusts out the gears and breaks down the chain, and sand grinds down hubs and bearings.  The exact things that make riding at the beach so amazing, renders them cumbersome and useless in no time.

What makes The Coast great:

We’ve lightened the load with an aluminum frame and fork, removed rust with a grease free belt drive and stainless steel components, and locked out water with fully sealed bearings.  The result is a 100% rust, water, and sand fighting cruiser that’s the smoothest ride you’ve ever had.

We also didn’t just keep it in the workshop.  We tested the bike around the world with adventurers, entrepreneurs, writers, and designers including Patagonia ambassador Kimi Werner, musician and surfer Donavon Frankenreiter, the founder of Dogfish Head Craft Brewery Sam Calagione, and former Twitter creative director Doug Bowman.  They gave us feedback and concluded that it was the best beach cruiser the have ever ridden.

What else you need to know:

We have really cool backer rewards:

Early Birds will get the Coast for $349 (+$35 shipping), this is for the first 100 only and we expect these will go pretty fast.

A 10 pack of bikes with custom logos for only $350 a bike. We can only do a limited amount of them, and this will be priced at around $6000 when we go to general market.

We have one custom painted Coast, designed by Chris Willcox, a prominent artist that we are selling for $5000 to benefit Sustainable Coastlines Hawaii. It is an amazing non-profit that helps make a positive impact on the ocean community. All proceeds will got to Sustainable Coastlines Hawaii.
