Every change starts with a first step. Our goal is to become a 100% vegan brand through this campaign. We are redefining and aligning our core values with our actions so we can be proud of our products. We´re presenting our first vegan model: Fenix.
We’ve created our new model called FENIX by focusing on three main criteria: vegan, sustainable and without sacrificing top-class design. You don’t need to use animals to create comfortable, breathable, environment-friendly shoes at a reasonable price.
DUUO represents the Barcelona lifestyle and identity: cosmopolitan, culturally lively, pro-nature and diverse. And this is represented by our first 100% vegan model. We’re also committed to sustainable mobility, environmental protection and fair working conditions.
These sneakers are 100% animal-free. We use recycled PET from plastic bottles collected from the seabed to make thread that can be used to make footwear. We believe in the circular economy as the basis of the textile industry of the future.
We’ve designed an exclusive pack for our Kickstarter backers:
Limited Edition Kickstarter sneakers at up to 45% off before they’re launched onto the market. What’s more, we’ve put together a pack of gifts just for you: we’ve produced a limited edition of our most exclusive cotton tote bag and some stickers for being the best #veganactivist.
We created our new Fenix model from scratch, creating a new sole, a new last and a refined, improved upper. Also, for the first time we’ve used sustainable and vegan materials, which is what we’ll be using from now on in our new creations. This is our first 100% vegan model, on sale exclusively on Kickstarter and the flagship for the change that the brand is undergoing through this campaign.
In developing this new product our design department has made a major effort to find new materials, new suppliers and the most comfortable but cutting-edge last and sole while trying to design a shoe that is as sustainable as possible.
Why are we running this Kickstarter campaign? Why are we asking you for help right now? Because for us this is a turning point for the brand, an internal revolution that we want to spread and turn into the revolution of empathy. We want you to be participants and partners in this change.
We’re completely giving up conventional production of leather shoes to switch to being a 100% vegan brand after this Kickstarter campaign. We’ve realised the problems caused for animals, people and the planet by this kind of production and that’s why we’re presenting our first 100% vegan model, the flagship of the change that will come soon if this campaign achieves its goal. With your help we’ll turn ourselves into the brand we’ve always wanted to be.
We commit to use more sustainable, ethical and empathic materials and techniques of production whilst promoting responsible consumption. We do all of that without sacrificing the style, design and personality that define us. And to do all this we need you. With your help, we’ll become the brand we’ve always wanted to be. Welcome to the Duuo era. Welcome to the vegan side.
Every year the leather industry kills over a thousand million animals. There is a mistaken belief that leather is a by-product of the meat industry. But really it’s just another co-product in the production chain.
We produce animals for the sole purpose of turning them into products of all kinds which we don’t need because there are more sustainable, fairer alternatives. Cattle are sentient animals. Like humans, they have a central nervous system and are therefore able to feel the same kind of pain.
Animal agriculture is responsible for 15% percent of greenhouse gas emissions, more than the combined exhaust fumes from all transportation in the world.
We are 7 bilion people. We are currently growing enough food to feed 10 billion people. Worldwide, at least 50% of grain is fed to livestock. 82% of starving children live in countries where food is fed to animals, and the animals are eaten by western countries. If we allocated part of this production to direct human consumption and managed it properly, we would put an end to hunger in the world.
The social factor is very important for us. That’s why we’re working with the Red Cross and the Red Cross Crescent Movement, to share part of the profits with them for the body to use in their projects, especially those with the most vulnerable groups: children, families and refugees or migrants.
1.We’re turning ourselves into a 100% vegan brand. Forever.
2.Constantly researching and seeking new raw materials that don’t involve cruelty to animals.
3.We undertake to develop and use sustainable, recycled and environment-friendly materials.
4.We foster fair working conditions and responsible consumption.
5.We do this without sacrificing style, design and the personality that sets us apart.
