First we terrorized the sea with our 8x8 Kraken, now we're on land! Our goal is to get the enormous 8x8 Behemoth made @ $18k! This great lumbering beast is perfect for representing any wingless land based predatory terror on the gaming table!
Behemoths are used by the Orcs of Dungeon Crawler™ as mounts until they become too large to control without powerful magic. Then they are brought to slumber for decades, awakened only as a last ditch defensive measure or to be fed criminals, slaves and prisoners during the Feasting Days. Should the Horde move against a nation, these beasts lead the attack guided by their shaman riders.
*Note, the tongue is removable.
KSX are Kickstarter Exclusive paints these will not be available for retail after the KS, any left over (we must order extra for damaged or lost inventory) we reserve the right to sell in person at conventions or to use as promotional material.
NAT are Unpainted.
PPM Pre-painted Plastic Miniatures which are our Standard paints.
The Orc Shaman is actually our "first rider" (not a *Rider) in that she is intended to ride atop the Behemoths' crown! A single 1x1 figure fits nicely on the Behemoths head.
A major focus about this campaign is our *Riders (the rider and mount). The riders are removable and can be swapped with each other during play. When you pledge for Riders, each rider comes with a specific mount seen below.
Our pledge calculator is an Excel spread sheet and will be updated with each new reveal so you can see every potential goal.
Several of our opening Reward levels are not "equal value" upfront, we know this and are offering repaint reward incentives to help with that. The value for many of the pledge levels is intended to grow during the course of the campaign without overreaching our capabilities. All pledge levels are available right away so that you, as our backer, will know what is available and can decide where to place your pledges, rather than waiting to open them up during the course of the campaign. Which brings us to...
If we do not make it to an equal Add-on value of your pledge level in Horde, Squadron, Legion or Phalanx, you will be able to fill out the remaining value with Add-ons. Yes, this will mean multiple copies of figures from our campaign, but you can choose them as you like. Example; If you pledge for Phalanx Natural ($55) and adding up all of the eligible figures from our Goals is only $25, you will get to Add-on the $30 difference in duplicates of your choice.
If you've backed us on any of our KS projects before and pledge at least $70 in this campaign you qualify for Credit which you can use on Add-ons of your choice! Loyalty Reward Credit are non-cumulative. Shipping fees do not count towards gaining Credit, BUT Add-ons do!
If you've backed us on our KS2013 and pledge at least $70 in this campaign, as a BONUS, you also get Early Bird rewards - even if you're not an Early Bird as a thank you for your faith and patience during KS2013!
The Early Bird countdown has ended.
Even if you missed out on the Early Bird, we want to reward all of our backers somehow, you will get a $7 Credit for every $70 pledged (does not stack with Early Bird). This way you get more good stuff to take home. For more info, check this update.
This is our breaking point, should we go any further it would delay the project too much and hit a type of critical mass with backers vs pledge totals. (At launch the Core includes; Behemoth, Orc Shaman, Goblin Rider, Dwarf Rider, Imp Rider and Kobold Rider. But, these sculpts must each be unlocked to be added.) This will grow and once we reach our cap we will continue to offer further goals as Expansions, with freebies towards the Core set dispersed intermittently.
Our company is called Gifted Vision inc, we own the Dungeon Crawler™ ECG (Expandible Card Game) and Dungeon Crawler™ DCM (Miniatures) lines, and we love fantasy gaming.
We're the little guys filling the pre-painted miniatures niche that other companies usually leave alone. There's 2 of us, a handful of solid investors, an awesome warehousing partner, a fierce and loyal PPM addicted community, and a wonderful array of contacts we've made over the years.
We provide miniatures assembled, pre-painted and ready to play right out of the box, as well as our own Story Mode expandable card game. Our miniatures are durable, won't stress or break from being dropped or mishandled and can be stored pretty much anywhere.
Why PPM (Pre-painted Plastic Miniatures)?
I've been RPGing for years, I'm not a painter and don't have the patience to assemble and fiddle with monsters or heroes from sprues, PLUS I want to place pieces on the table that look good right out of the package. I also GM on occasion and require armies of figures on a fairly low budget. I've never really had much coin as an artist so pen and paper table top RPG was my game of choice (because RPGs just needed 1 set of dice and 1 player's guide to play). PPMs are admittedly a luxury, but what can I say, I'm in love. We love being able to store these figures anywhere and not worry about breakage. A little while ago the market had dried up, so as GVN I decided to try my hand at the PPM industry and managed to get our first modest set From the Depths out the door. The market seems to be picking up once again, but we love making these little guys and are sticking to it.
Why unpainted? Since we've already got the sculpts made, we decided to make our line of products available as unpainted as well, we may as well offer both and make everyone happy!
We've been successful with KS already, but this time around we have a little more to offer. This industry of tiny plastic critters is very expensive to get in to, and we're hoping to get a consistent flow of minis going at a steady pace, to the point where KS is an option for us and not a need. For this we need the attention of a lot of people, and KS is the platform for finding like-minded collectors and doing just that.
We've learned so much since our previous attempts at KickStarter, and from our production of the Kraken set, we know that this campaign will shine by comparison.
We have better sculptors, a good clear understanding with our manufacturers, more to offer and straight forward pledge levels (which should keep confusion down to a minimum) and a fantastic line-up ready to keep our backers interested in what we are doing.
We hope you're able to grant us your support in our campaign or even just be able to help spread the word about our little company with awesome plastic table top toys.
Sincerely, Jey & Ev.

We ship only via USPS (no FedEx or UPS), which means in our experience, you won't be paying VAT.
Add the value of all of your items together, if you have minis add them by their NAT value. So a PPM Behemoth is $70 not $90 (we're being charged for shipping by weight and size not colours). When you get your total, draw a line across to your shipping location, that is the cost of your shipping.
To our Canadian Backers, although we are a Canadian company our fulfilment house is in the USA, which means we must ship our product across the border. USPS is less expensive than Canada Post, and if we shipped via Canada Post the rates would be higher for everyone.
Risks and challenges
This is our second pre-painted miniature kickstarter. We learned many things with our first pre-painted kickstarter; our greatest hurdle was manufacturing, our highest risk is shipping costs and our greatest challenge is scheduling.
As of the launch of this campaign, we are still in progress with providing replacement pieces from our KS2013 project that we felt were not up to GVNs standards. Several pieces have been approved, but a few have not.
If you'd like to see our existing line of miniatures, check them out here http://www.dungeoncrawler.com/shop/shop_us.html
Calculating the shipping in to the KS so that we do not go over budget can be very difficult, while dealing with the scheduling of our manufacturing can be the aspect that is furthest out of our control. With this being our second order with our manufacturers, it should go faster and smoother than our first (the first time working together is always the hardest).
We anticipate there may be delays with sculpting for those pieces that are not already completed. The scale of this KS is thus far unknown and could extend the delivery date of the entire production. We have taken precautions in the design of this campaign to keep this kind of a delay to a minimum by dividing it in to Waves.
IF you back our project and we are successfully funded, we will turn down requests for refunds. After all, if we didn't actually need your support, we wouldn't be on KS. We advise not backing projects you are not sure about.
You need not buy everything JUST via KS and can use Paypal later on once you've seen the completed master paints and sculpts of pieces we were unable to showcase. Keep in mind, Paypal purchases will not unlock further goals.
Freebies, discounts, shipping first and KSX paints are what we offer for backing us upfront - but, we know, the waiting can be excruciating at times, it is a very long process.
We intend to use BackerKit to complete our surveys and checkouts.
Thank you! This is a huge undertaking, but it's our dream to someday make a living at creating these.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
