Light Hunters is a Heroic Fantasy card game for 2-8 players. Work as a team to form your battalion and crush the enemy camp.
Carefully choose your heroes and face your opponents in an epic battle. The heroes of the surviving battalion are then declared victorious and free to regain their world.
You are a mighty hero, whose name evokes glory and a prestigious destiny since birth. However, the Gods have punished and exiled you for your sins...but one chance remains. Create your battalion and crush the opposing camp or be annihilated forever...
You think you can fight like you're used to? You don't know the perverseness of the Gods. Your skills are blocked and you must summon Spirits of Light to use them. Those 5 spirits will gradually reveal your power.
The first Spirit only appears at dawn. A hint of your skills returns, providing a taste of your true power.
The second Spirit displays its iridescent light, offering more power to protect you or reduce the life of enemy heroes.
The third Spirit announces a new day for your destiny. Your choices now will decide your future.
The fourth Spirit begins to bring back the glory of your past. Your time becomes precious as the Illumination will soon be upon both camps.
With the fifth Spirit, your glory will be complete and you full power finally returned.
But you don't have enough energy. What happened to the fervor that once fueled you? It gradually returns as each assault brings you more stamina, but you still must preserve yourself and attack with strategy.

Set up the game
Assemble 2 teams and place them face to face. Each team may use one or several heroes. However, each team must use the same number of heroes.
Progression of the game
Light Hunters is a turn-based card game in which the number of possibilities increases as the game progresses. Each round is equivalent to its Ether level: 1st round= Ether level 1, 2nd round= Ether level 2, up to 5 max.
Progression of a hero round
During a round, every hero plays 1 time. To play a hero's skill, you refer to the Spirit of Light cards and the Ether level available for the round. You may choose to pass or play. If you choose to play, you can activate an attack or ability and discard a number of Spirit of Light cards that were consumed. The round for the hero is finished and the following hero begins their turn. After all heroes have played, you move onto the next round and increase the Ether level +1.
End of the game
A battalion claims victory once it has eliminated the enemy camp. All the heroes from the remaining battalion are declared winners, worthy to reclaim their world, free and full of glory.
This is a simplified description of a round. Consult the rules for a more in-depth description.
There are 4 categories that determine the fighting style of each hero: Tank, Fighter, Healer and Spellcaster. It is a team game, so plan strategically and think ahead when placing your fighters on the field.
Jamshaid (Orc King - 10 health points) - Imposing and above all, terrifying. He's able to freeze enemies in their tracks, making them easier to defeat.
Balder (Barbarian Lord - 12 health points) - A brave warrior with the makings of a leader. He's able to motivate his battalion, even if it means going to the front line himself.
Bergljot (Expert Archer - 8 health points) - Agile and fast, the arrogant archer boasts of never missing her targets.
Ludano (Mysterious Champion - 8 health points) - Certainly the most egocentric of all the heroes, but you can count on his sword skills to quickly finish the enemy.
Lucrecia (Belligerent Witch - 9 health points) - Do not take her for an old crazy too fast, for it is she who will make you crazy and lose all ground.
Merletta (Mischievous Fairy - 9 health points) - Dedicated to her friends, she will not let you down. Her youth and talents as a healer allow you to regain your vigor.
Dagbjart (Druid Hermit - 9 health points) - He uses the power of nature. Be careful where you step, you could become trapped.
Weyaya (Esoteric Necromancer - 8 health points) - Master of life and death. The necromancer has the power to restore life to those who have fallen in battle.

Today, most card games are for multiple players, but not teams. (ex. UNO, the President, Poker, etc...) We're fans of RPG/Heroic Fantasy but we also enjoy being with our family and friends in a bar, on a picnic, traveling... We wanted to create a game that allowed each person to handle their own hero as part of a team and be in the midst of an epic battle, because that's the most fun! We chose to develop it as a card game, which allows us to take it anywhere and play it without having our batteries die :P It's easy to play and we made sure it's accessible for everyone.
Serge and Manon have been working on the game since December.
Manon, the India Ink Alchemist, is currently polishing up the style and characters of each card. She also made videos and supports all the media graphics with her creativity and talents.
Serge, the Strategist, thought of the game, tested it again and again, and adjusted the rules and characters.
Marine, the Scribe, works on the wordings and supports our media strategies.
It's after countless tests, smiles, and games in a meeting room that we have the pleasure to present Light Hunters on Kickstarter! This is the only way Light Hunters is financed. It is our first game and hope you're already looking forward to play it :)

Risks and challenges
It's our first game and a lot of things can be hard to realize and anticipate everything, but we like our game so much and our backers of course !

2. Print all pieces of the game in France to have a better control of the production.
