The Boardgames Society Presentation (English Vs French):
GameosityI tried a digital version of Efemeris out and it was pretty fun. I like that and you’re building the starmap as you go and the combat system is really straightforward. Efemeris is a good abstract game with a stunningly gorgeous design.
Board CrazyWhen it comes to Kickstarter, the games that look the best are often the ones that do the best. And when I say “look the best”, I don’t mean they figuratively “look” fun to play; I literally mean they look, appearance-wise, good. Efemeris, from DTDA Games, drew me in for that exact reason – it’s visually appealing. Honestly, I don’t know if “visually appealing” adequately describes this game’s aesthetic elegance. Few games, at least on Kickstarter, have ever been so eye-catching to me. The Captain cards, tokens, board tiles, box, and even the rulebook all are stunningly drawn and designed. I mean, the box itself reminds me of this hardcover book of Shakespeare’s complete works that my brother owns, and that book is damn handsome. Sure, I could see how this game’s art style might be unappealing or overly simple to some people, but its refinement is what I and likely other people find redeeming about it. If the makers of this game put as much attention into the gameplay as they did the artwork, Efemeris will be a can’t-miss.See full article
The graphic design and art of this game are mindblowing for me. As a result, this elegance breathes calmness while makes your mind travel, convincing me it will add a lot to the experience. As you can tell the game has an easy flow with many strategic choices, cool scenarios, and unique abilities. See full article
The Boardgames Society
We had the chance to receive a prototype of the game Efemeris from DTDA Games. We are easily seduced by the illustrations of Manon Potier and we played the game delighted by the fluid mechanics of the designer Sergio Matsumoto. We like it a lot at the Boardgames Society.
Lektre's review excerpt on TricTrac - Translated
The game, although at a prototype stage, is already pretty damn good, between the delicate figurines of galleons and very classy frigates, the graphic material, at the same time design, ergonomic for the player boards and very inspiring with the cards with the wash drawings of the crew. It is a real gestural pleasure and fun to manage your armada and in the first phase, to put the star tiles to open the navigation paths of the game board, there is a slightly space exploration side, very nice. It is already a game in the game, where the placement of the tiles will influence the strategies (isolate planets, combine systems ...) to come, so big plus for the replay value and the guarantee of having games that are not alike.
Once the map is deployed, you begin to consider your conquests, again, it is the choice of your nation and your captain that will affect your strategy (or not), using his powers and by focusing on movements, the exchange/trading or the offensive strike, again, it gives a very good feeling of replay value and a good progression curve, to apprehend each of the capabilities of different nations.
