"Swami Lushbeard is proof that great music still exists"
- Tom Slick Radio Rock 92.6 the Blitz
We started Swami Lushbeard with one guitar, a piano and an idea that songs matter more than anything else. Since our very beginning, everything we’ve created has been in service to the song itself and focused on the story that's being told. We’re ready to celebrate that and challenge ourselves like never before in 2019.
We are releasing our next EP, one song at a time. There are 5* brand new numbers ready to record and plans to release one new single a month till the official record release date (TBD). At the start of this journey the new record is still untitled, but have no fear. The title for almost every record we've ever done has come organically through the result of our recording process. We can't wait for this next one to reveal itself. By contributing to our Kickstarter campaign, you not only help us make this record in the best way we know how, but you also help the music industry get a bit more woke to the fact that Rock is still thriving, alive and kicking in the hearts of music fans everywhere.
Especially today where “The Truth” depends on where you get your news from and not on whom you speak to. Our new record is inspired by the endless stereo monologues we endure these days and sonically ready to aggressively combat disinformation on all fronts. This seemingly newfound freedom to point the finger and give the finger to any and all who’d disagree with us has never been more accepted or on display – as a band we’re fighting back, with words, music, and songs that truly matter at a time where the world needs artists, bands, and musicians more than ever before. Your help through this campaign will contribute to our sincere efforts to separate fiction from facts and bring real songwriting with depth & killer musicianship back to the forefront of Rock.
We've been writing new material for the better part of a year now, so tunes have been fine-tuned and arrangements have been arranged. Some of you may have already heard a song or two live at a show, but we think you’ll have a new appreciation for the material once you’ve heard things the way we do...
1) All About You
“It’s crazy today, anything you can say can be rumored into Fake News. If it’s all in our head then it’s got to be said... It can't always be All About You"
This song is so new it's not even seen a light on the stage. It’s inspired by a self-centered society led by leaders who play victims rather than volunteers. Where, left to our own devices we can easily destroy ourselves to spite the other side. We know its debut will surely peak someone's curiosity #YouKnowWhoYouAre.
“I need an Enemy to prove I’m strong, I need an Enemy to blame shit on”
Freedom can be a tricky thing. Especially when you realize you’re the one responsible for what you do with it. Is it any wonder then, so many seek out the nearest foil to unburden that responsibility on? Putting someone down to draw oneself up is now a national pastime.
3) The Lights Complain
"I spend the days inside my head, building walls with words they've said"
Something's always managing to make you think of better days. Now there's nothing left to do but watch... the lights complain.
4) End of the World
"It's easy if you see what you believe, the future isn't what it used to be. Even amateurs produce reality. Sometimes the cure will kill you quicker than the disease."
Life after Death... Not the Afterlife. This is inspired by those left behind to either celebrate or curse the journey. It's terribly obvious to see that the stories we tell ourselves, inform our opinions on this subject and everything else in between.
5) The Truth
"What will it take... to get you to break?
We were told "the truth hurts" and we believed it. It's not hard at all to see so many others do as well. They'll do whatever it takes to escape it, even if that means losing what is most precious to them.
Here's an early version of #Enemy performed live at "Saint Rocke" in Hermosa Beach, Ca.
How will your money be spent?
We are working with the mighty Curt Piar (CPMP) from Simi Valley Ca. once again, so there's no doubt the project is in capable hands. Curt has recorded practically every record we've ever made and has actually sat in with us at a show or two. Curt speaks fluent Swami and is well versed in the ways of the Lushbeard.
Since the halcyon days of Proving Ground Studio are long gone, we are ever on the search for new home to hang our hi-hats and lay down some tracks. We feel confident that we may have found that exact location deep down in the heart Burbank Ca. We'll be sure to keep you guys posted through our stay there, so you can all see for yourselves if we're on the money.
Here is an approximate breakdown of how the $7,000 will be spent:
- Studio time - $3600
- Engineer - $900
- Mix & Master - $1500
That still leaves a bit of room for: Kickstarter Fees (5%), Stripe Fees (5%) and Tax. Yes, that's right... we get taxed on this.
* if we surpass our goal we can record an additional song.
