Happy Thanksgiving & Merry Christmas

Hello everybody! Before anything else, we wanted to greet everybody a belated Happy Thanksgiving! We hope you guys had a great time and to those who shopped on Black Friday, hope your happy with your new toys.

We wanted to take this opportunity to say thank you to all of you. It’s been a year since we got funded and it has been a very difficult but satisfying journey. I know we are not yet there but things look good so far. We are grateful for your continued support and your patience.

We also wanted to greet you all an advanced Merry Christmas. Our next update will probably be in late December or Early January so I wanted to take this opportunity to greet everybody already.

I know it’s been a while since our last update but we’ve just been extremely busy working on the game. We’ve been making good progress but there is still so much to do. This update will be relatively short though and we’ll just summarize everything that’s been happening so far:

NEW PRODUCER / PROJECT MANAGER

One major change is that we have a new producer / project manager Gwen Foster, who will be running the operational side of development. This will allow me to focus more on the creative aspects of the game and to complete all the needed content. I’m honestly behind schedule so it’s time for me to catch up. Hopefully with Gwen’s help we can get things running more efficiently

PROGRAMMING

The programming team is doing a good job and continuously working on all the needed tools. Many of them are done or functional already. By January, after the Xmas break, we will start putting all the parts together.

2D Art

The 2D art team continues to work on materials required for marketing, the rewards books, GUI, in-game art and others. They also still continue to do concepts though. We've also trained our 2D art team in Unity so they will be assisting the content group later on. Below are just a few samples of final renders of the characters.

BACKER ART

We also want to share here 2 of the Backer characters created for the game. We showed you their rough concept art before and these are now their final renders. Their 3d characters are now being created and will be playable within the game.

3D ART

For 3D, the work continues. We’re still lagging behind a bit in these area but we found some freelancers we can work with to bolster our existing team and our interns this semester are mostly 3D artist so they’ve been helpful as well.

For the environments, we are doing ok. By January you should start seeing some actual level samples. For the character models, since they are so specific and unique, it’s taking longer than we anticipated. We do have a lot already done in terms of minor and major npcs, as well as creatures and monsters.

MOTION CAPTURE

We’re also currently preparing for doing motion capture animations to complete our current animation assets. With the help of the great people at Synergy 88, one of the top animation and game development studios in the Philippines, they will be helping us do motion capture for the game. Though we have an inventory of animations already, there are still very specific animations that would come out best using motion capture. This move will make many of the animations in the game much better.  We've already done our preliminary testing and its looking good. We will show you some behind the scene videos and photos by next update. Here though is a teaser of the testing that was done.

ALPHA TESTING

We're a bit delayed with the alpha but we're hoping and targeting you to have something to start testing by early Feb 2016. Check on the forums and here for announcements.

GRAYWALKERS TABLETOP RPG

We will start sending out the alpha rule sets by January as well. This is in preparation for the planned Kickstarter for the RPG in Feb. For those who got the RPG as a reward or addon, we're hoping you guys can test it out first and give us your feedback so we can refine all the major flaws before we do the KS campaign.

FORUMS

Lastly, we would like to invite everybody to  say hello and be active on the forums. We want to hear what you guys have to say about any concerns, suggestions, or even ideas for the game. You know we love hearing from you all.

SHOUTOUTS

Before we go, we also want to take this opportunity to help out some campaigns that have approached us. Their campaigns are in their last days so please check them out right away. They all need your help in reaching their goal.

First up is Blacksea Odyssey. They are in their last 2 days. They have just reached their goal but more help would definitely be welcome.

The next one is Andromeda Wild. Though they still have a long way to go for their goals, they still have 2 days to go and anything is possible.

And that's it for now. As usual, you can reach us at any time here or at the forums.Next update will probably be after New Year! We wish you all Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas!!!

      @Robert Kasaly
Thanks for the continued support. I'm sure your group will be of great help.

As for your username, let me have one of the guys check on that and get back to you.

Hi, it's me again, as always. I can see you're really refining those character designs, I'm liking each batch of concept art more and more. Each character has their own distinct style while keeping in mind that this is all post apocalyptic so the things they're wearing are all worn and patched up. I like the "American McGee's Alice" looking one in the tattered dress with a big-ass knife. I don't think I've seen her before.

Don't worry about the alpha test of the tabletop RPG, I've got a seasoned group of veterans who have a keen eye for mechanical weaknesses and imbalances, and I'll put it through its paces.

And finally, speaking of the forum, there's one thing I wanted to ask. How do I change the appearance of my username? I'm both in the Graywalkers Club and a Kickstarter backer, yet my name's just plain orange.
