EEW Mini Used in Spinning Classes!

Posted by Maurice Ribble (Creator)

More Minis are shipping to Kickstarter backers every week.  At this point I've shipped to over 55% of backers (through backer #643).

I got an awesome email from an instructor for spinning classes at the Heritage Park Historical Village in Calgary, Canada.  They are using the Mini in their course.  I think the way they are using clip boards to hold the Minis in the photo below is pretty ingenious.

In other exciting news we just got 12 chicks, which we plan to grow into egg laying hens.  My wife did a which is softer contest.  Day old chicks or alpaca fiber.  She couldn't decide so I guess it's a tie.

Hope you all enjoyed this update.  Happy spinning!

Don't worry Thea. it was just done for a photo. We are using nice chick friendly wood chips for their box.

Please do not use alpaca wool for the birds. this wool tightens around their paws !

The biggest group of people talking about the EEW Mini is on Ravelry (you need to sign up for a free account to participate):

I'm not sure what video you are talking about, but there are a lot of them on my youtube channel:…

Where do I find this video the other commenters are talking about? I’ll probably receive my wheel in June as I’m near the end but I can be prepared. The tip about the clipboards was so clever. I’m the only one in my small fiber group that was brave enough [or maybe just online at the right time] to take a chance on this little wheel. I’m anxious to show it to them.

I displayed my wheel fresh out of the box at our Weavers Guild meeting today. Everyone was impressed! I will demo it at our next meeting ( after I try out all the hacks here and get my dea legs with it). So happy to finally have it!

I demoed the wheel at the DFW Fiberfest. We had them to play with. Everyone was excited about the portable power hacks [from the video] and one other hack: a velcro strap. I attached the wheel to a tiny Caboodles box with the strap. The wheel and accessories fit in the box when porting it. So.!

Debra, you got a survey asking for this information from Kickstarter. I checked and you filled out that information back towards the end of February so I have your info. You are towards the end of the list so yours will probably ship in June.
