Shipped to over 25% of backers

I've shipped Minis to Kickstarter backers through backer #312, or if you prefer percentages I've shipped the Mini to 28.4% of the backers.

Assembly has been a little slower than I estimated so I've found another local contractor to help speed up assembly.  Marion is actually a backer of this Kickstarter.  She was interested this work and has some experience as a contractor so she was a good fit.  With her help I think we should still be on track to getting all the Minis shipped by the end of June as originally estimated.

It's interesting how often my contractors over estimate how much work they can get done.  I generally get an estimate on how many parts someone thinks they can assemble and then reduce that by 25% when figuring out how long assembly will take.  In this case even that estimate turned out to be too high and that's why I need another helper.  When people estimate they often forget that they will be distracted by extra things in life like doctor appointments, their kids, or many other tasks that keep us busy.  The flexibility of this work is a major advantage to my assemblers, but I've learned over time people generally overestimate so I try to account for it.  Then it's not really a problem when I get less since I've built that into my schedule.  I just want high quality assembly and I think all three of my assemblers are doing that now.  Anyways that's a little insight into one of things I'm working through to all the Minis shipped.  It's these kind of things that most Kickstarter projects are late, but I try hard to avoid that.  If I keep doing Kickstarter projects I'm sure I'll eventually have a late one, but hopefully it won't be the Mini.

One thing that would help me is after using your mini is to leave a review on my store.  This will help me understand what people like about it and it help others thinking about buying a Mini from my store.  I won't start selling them on that store until all the Kickstarter backers have received their Minis, but as a Kickstarter backer you can leave reviews on my store.

If you have any issues with your Mini (maybe a part is missing or something else) please contact me via this contact page and I will do everything I can to make all my backers happy.

Happy spinning!

Yup another batch is getting mailed out today. I've now shipped through backer #531. Getting close to shipping Mini's to half the backers. Still on target for shipping them all by the end of June.

Michele, I've emailed you about this. In general people get email notifications when their package shipped, but some aren't getting that email. My system does seem to be sending the emails and I'm not sure if it's being marked as spam email or what.

Halley, so happy it made it there already!

I'm backer #161, and just received my Mini all the way down here in Australia! It arrived way faster than I expected; I don't even have my wool yet!

I was sooooo shocked to open this box I received almost 2 weeks ago and see my Eel Wheel Mini!!! It arrived the day before I left on my Spring Break vaca...so it had to wait for my return. I got to play with it this afternoon and it's so much FUN!!! I can see myself pulling it out of the cute little bag I found to put it in and spinning every evening! Maybe even bringing it to work to spin at lunch! Thanks!

I may be the very last backer on your list, or at least very close. I love getting the updates. I’m a patient person and I prefer waiting for a quality product. It is fun to see how you are doing.
