A look at the Eisenkern APC

I thought I would pass along some shots of the Eisenkern APC. When last you saw the design it was pretty much a roughed in hull, the final version received more details inside and out.

This kit will feature see through window sections so that you may view the interior, movable quad ‘Scorpion’ weapons system that provides enough arc, azimuth and elevation to clear unwanted guests from your doorstep. Linked and movable front suspension, doors and hatches that you may leave open or closed (Due to the scale I could not create full working hinges on the smaller doors and hatches, you may need to decide if you want to glue the smaller doors in the open or closed position, the larger rear hatch has full hinges). The Kickstarter backers will receive the full crew compliment, 10 riflemen, driver and gunner. I won’t know if we can include the ten riflemen in the general release until we know how many sprues we will need to complete the kit.

I was able to shrink the vehicle down a bit from the original render but it is still a BEAST! It is about a foot taller than the modern day Stryker APC but considerable wider and longer. Roughly 3 meters tall, 4.97 meter wide and 10.15 meters long. You won’t be parking this monster in a tight space without smashing a few bumpers.

This vehicle is as heavily armored as a main battle tank, weighing in at over 70 tons in rides on six huge solid tires, each with an independent drive system that allows this vehicle to spin in place, in the same manner as its tracked brethren.

The nose section is taken up by the reactor, this is the same full size reactor found on the Leviathan Crusader and Mortis, allowing the APC indefinite range and access to impressive speed… The reactor in this vehicle is capable of recharging equipment and the super capacitors found on lighter vehicles and Leviathan, in this way, the ‘Keilerkopf’ becomes a central part of any forward unit’s logistics. Everything you need for planetary conquest.

Even with its monster size, the interior is still a bit cramped, eight riflemen are seated in the rear with just enough room for a trooper to stand, equip and egress. Two riflemen take up the ‘shotgun positions on either side of the APC’s driver and gunner and would likely use the side doors when possible.

Damn, I am SO bummed that I did not pledge for at least one of these!

    2. Gomezaddams on May 24, 2013

      Just a thought but...
What about a wave four? That no ones pledge anything, its just adding another fufillment wave thats seperate and meand we can put money directly i to you/WGFs pockets rather then going through a retailer.

Ill be honest, Im intending to do bulk orders from WGF for that very reason, Id just likr a way to get money to you quicker so the Eisenkern can get cleared and you can crack on with the Commonwealth infantry :-D

Thank you Mark! I hope to have this Bad boy soon and personally I am fine with the retail units not having crew! You snooze you loose No kick starter no crew so NYAH!

Thanks guy! Great to hear you like the final production design.

Unfortunately I cannot open the KS orders to add items at this point, I want you to know I discussed this with WGF and the way their internal system and the pledge manager interface is anything but automated… Any changes require the manual deletion and then recreation of your KS order; as well as tracking any new cost (shipping, etc), invoicing you and then finalizing payment then manually reactivation the individual account. This would be a logistics nightmare for them.

They will be available retail and as I want to sell these by the truckload, I hope to price them as close to the KS price as I can. (Just guestimating at around $49-$55, but this may not be reality? So please do not hold me to that) I will not know what that looks like until we get a sprue count for the final APC, this is why I noted that the 10 man may not be included in the retail version… If it turns out this is a monster kit, like the Leviathan, I will need to streamline what is offered in the retail box by removing the 10 riflemen to keep the initial price as low as I can, and then offering the 10 riflemen as an additional purchase for those who choose to load out the APC.

GIMMIE GIMMIE GIMMIE MINE NOW!!!!! What is Suggested retail on this? cause I think I need 2 more at least (to carry the 30 grunts I have)

    8. Jon Larsen on May 22, 2013

I'd be interested in adding one of these to my pledge as well.

This is way cooler looking that I had envisioned it earlier! Plus, I'm one of those lumping everything into the 3rd shipment - well, let me/us know if it's possible to add anything now. Thanks.

    9. Andrew P on May 22, 2013

I pledged for four of these babies. As soon as Mike announced that they came with 10 crew I knew I could not pass this up!

OK.. These look great.. and I can't remember if I pledged for one or not.. I have already gotten my Crusader and infantry boxed sets (and they are awesome, even though none have been assembled yet.. dang real life). I have moved since the Kickstarter and can't locate my printed copy nor a digital one (which I was sure I saved)... is there any way of getting a reminder of what was pledged for?

I pledged for 2 in a moment of euphoria. Afterwards I blamed myself because I was not really fond of the models.

Now I see these renders, I blame myself I only pledged for 2. :o)

They are awesome and their look fits perfectly with the infantry.

    13. Gomezaddams on May 22, 2013

I knew this would happen - I just couldn't fit these in to my pledge and now I'm absolutely kicking myself. Dont get me wrong, I'm more then happy with what I pledge for but... bah, if I hadn't wasted money on the sedition wars KS I could have had three of those.

Please please please consider re-opening pledges mark!

    14. John H. on May 22, 2013

      Wow, that's a big engine!

    15. Clive Weldon on May 22, 2013

      That looks simply incredible.
I am in love with the roof mounted gun that can actually shoot things in front of the vehicle.
Just hope my modelling skills are up the 3 APCs I ordered... bring em on! :o)

Please sir, will you take more of my money?

It looks BEAUTIFUL! My only complaint is that it looks far too spacious inside relative to real world APC's. You can easily cram another 5 troopers in there! :P

    17. "DUMP" on May 22, 2013

Any chance you will open these up to purchase a couple for those of us who couldn't afford it at the end of the KS?

    18. Alvin Scott on May 22, 2013

All I can say is damn I'm glad I pledged for 3.

    19. captain birdbum on May 22, 2013

That's awesome. Wish I pledged for one. Will have to pick one up when on general sale.

When are you going to commission someone to make that beast in full scale, and fully working? Because I want one!

    21. Warchild40k on May 22, 2013

You're right, it is a beast! It looks amazing and I can't wait for this to hit the table top :)

    22. Keith "Rahz" Munro on May 22, 2013

      Sexy! I can't wait!
