As "Avengers: Infinity War" dominates the worldwide box office, the legendary Jim Starlin, creator of Thanos, the Infinity Gauntlet, Drax, Gamora, and many more, is joining with Ominous Press to release two exciting projects!
Ominous Press is proud to present the Jim Starlin Collection.
The first is Black Book: The Art of Jim Starlin, a new collection of Starlin artwork, most of it never published previously. The 112-page hardcover spans Starlin's entire career, including classic images, rare private commissions, personal work, never-before-published sequential pages, and even the world's first glimpse of a new Dreadstar story.
This is pure Starlin, in all its cosmic power and glory. The images contained in the Black Book are all hand-picked by Jim Starlin, who has written commentary throughout. The cover is brand new, and may well be the last image Starlin draws after an accident injured his drawing hand.
The second project is an oversize hardcover edition of Jim Starlin's illustrated prose novella Mindgames, a science-fiction epic set on Hardcore Station.
In Mindgames, telepath Dr. Zareb Alter is in reality a former member of a notorious interstellar crime organization. Alter is pulled back into his dirty family business as he tries to solve a murder on Hardcore Station. Along the way, he must contend with a genetically-altered collection of power-enhanced psychopaths, as well as deviants of all kinds, if he intends to reach the heart of the mystery.
Starlin's expansive, lavish artwork for Mindgames will be reproduced in gray tones, as the acclaimed illustrator originally intended. The result is a graphic and narrative tour de force from a master storyteller.
Described by the creator himself as "Starlin-brand sci-fi and weirdness" and checking in at more than 100 pages, this is the only hardcover publication of this story. Mindgames is the beginning of a four-part Hardcore Station story cycle.

Risks and challenges
The vast majority of work on Black Book: The Art of Jim Starlin and Mindgames is already complete. All art is in hand, meaning that only the editing, production, and printing phases of the project remain. Editing and production are already in process, and are expected to be complete by the time the Kickstarter campaign ends.
Assuming we are successfully funded, both books will be sent to press shortly after the campaign's conclusion. Proofing, printing, and shipping to our offices will take a few weeks, and then fulfillment can begin. Delays due to unforeseen circumstances are always possible, but we anticipate a smooth process and on-time delivery.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
