Serpent's Keep Card Game (Canceled)
Exciting card game based on the fantasy/scifi adventure novel and miniseries screenplay.
The Serpent's Keep Card Game
The Serpent’s Keep Card Game is an exciting four player game that allows players to step into and experience the novel of Serpent’s Keep, to live the quest of Jacob Quigley.
The game consists of a sturdy game box, 144 heavy-duty cards, rule book and a quick reference guide.
It will be joining the original novel, the large print edition of the novel, the ebook, audiobook, the Serpent's Ladder Dice game, and the miniseries screenplay. Soon to follow the card game into the Serpent's Keep universe is the board game, currently in prototype.
The blurb on the back cover of the novel Serpent’s Keep:
“I bequeath to my nephew, Jacob Quigley, all that I own, all that I dream, and all that I am, in the hope that my life’s quest will become his quest.”
— Last Will & Testament of Tobias Quigley
Those few cryptic words send Jake into a bizarre world that couldn’t possibly exist. In his quest to gather together the Artifacts, he will befriend a network of eternal Guardians, defend against an ancient enemy no one has ever heard of, travel a series of Gateways to the Other Worlds, and if his quest is successful, surrender his freedom.
The original Serpent’s Keep novel is available in print, large print, ebook and audiobook formats, available through Greybeard Publishing, Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Audible.com and many other retailers.
"If you need to take a break or get a cup of coffee, do so at this point, as you'll be glued to this book moving forward." -- five stars
The Serpent’s Ladder Dice Game is “played by members of the Adventurer’s Guild”, as described in the novel. Serpent's Ladder is similar to other dice games in that it consists of dice, a cup, and a scorepad. There the similarity ends. This is a totally unique game incorporating all the strategy that it is possible to put into the roll of the dice.
The television miniseries screenplay adaptation of the novel was a top 10 finalist in a major screenwriting competition and is currently being marketed to the entertainment industry.
Industry feedback re screenplay:
"The story takes us on a fantastical ride where anything is possible."
The Serpent’s Keep Board Game is being prototyped and is in the development queue to follow the release of the card game. Much like the card game, it transports the players into the SK universe; first to the village, then the Outland and finally the Other Worlds.
The game board is a large, 24 x 36 tri-fold board, depicting the Village, the Outland and each of the Other Worlds. There are three sets of cards using heavy stock, a set of playing pieces, die, a rule book printed on ivory colored paper, all contained within a colorful, heavy duty box.
The Serpent's Keep website, currently in development, will serve as the portal to this amazing universe.
Oh, and finally... the sequel to the original novel is in development.
The Serpent's Keep Card Game has been fully prototyped and has gone through extensive and rigorous testing. It is now ready to take its place in the universe of Serpent's Keep.
Join us there...
Take the quest, reap the rewards...
While we can produce some of the materials in-house, the majority of the production is happening outside. We have quotes for 1,000 units, 1,500 units and beyond.
Our first goal of $9,100 will allow us to cover the setup and manufacturing costs, shipping costs, Kickstarter fees and incidental campaign costs.
Our hope is to go beyond the $9,100 and reach a secondary goal of $10,800. With this, we will be able to acquire more units at a lower cost per unit, and thereby sell the card game for considerably less.
Funding beyond that... huge discounts on manufacturing costs. We'll be posting our progress as we go.
Risks and challenges
We have developed a wide-ranging marketing campaign that is scheduled to begin September 2016.
The initiation of the campaign, as well as the fulfillment of the Kickstarter rewards that include the card game, may be impacted by the delivery of the game units to us from the manufacturer. We have coordinated with them on the configuration of the design, but they will not begin production of the card game until we have provided them with the funds, which is not scheduled until the close of this financing campaign.
We will do our best to provide the card game rewards as scheduled.
All other rewards should be available during the month specified in the reward description.
