The Vanacci watch, a timepiece combining minimalist design and luxurious carbon leather. Italian concept. Swiss engineered. Yorkshire born.
A uniquely styled Italian designer watch combines classic minimalist design aesthetics with engineering excellence. Capturing the light of the moment presents a unique look from dawn to dusk. Paired with a luxurious carbon leather strap, this is a quality timepiece for any formal occasion.
Our carbon leather strap combines the qualities of top grain full hide leather and carbon fibre, providing a supple wrist strap with excellent abrasion resistance and longevity. With this, we have introduced a traditional watchstrap that combines the look of carbon fibre with the comfort of natural leather.
The shimmering dichroic effect face suits any occasion, transferring from a brilliant teal blue to a brooding dark navy as light moves across its surface. The inclusion of softly luminescent hands will subtly inform you of the time whilst maintaining the rich, aphotic look of the watch face.
Sprung from Italian design heritage, every millimetre has been thought through and considered to make a beautiful watch.
An unobtrusive minimal design gives the watch a refined elegance that matches any environment, subtly glinting to draw the eye where it reveals its dignified beauty.
A Swiss Ronda movement ensures quality and reliability. A quality Swiss quartz crystal is at the heart of our watch and will stand up to the rigours of modern life.
Built in house here in Yorkshire, the watches are skillfully assembled by our highly experienced craftsmen, ensuring a high quality product is on its way to you.
Our stainless steel case and bezel are hard-wearing and durable for an active lifestyle. Whatever the scenario, the watch provides continuous shine and glimmer whether you’re on or off-duty.
Our aim when we set out to design our watch was to keep it simple but retain a timeless elegance. We looked at time in the 24 hour period and could see how light was interacting with the world around us throughout the day. Looking to our timepiece, we wanted to try and capture some of that magic. So we set the task of creating a surface finish that would refract the light differently in varying lighting conditions. The solution was found in a metallic finish that behaves similar to that of dichroic glass. The end result is a watch that takes on the emotion of a cool wintry sunrise or is playfully vibrant on a warm summer afternoon in the park.
We framed all of this in a beautifully bright stainless steel case and placed a Swiss Ronda movement at its heart to make sure this timepiece is as functional as it is captivating. The luscious shine of the stainless steel is naturally complimentary to the dark carbon leather found across many of the Vanacci products but we wanted something a little bit special. So instead of taking a strap off the shelf, we redesigned one from the ground up, giving us true design freedom.
We're using a new type of weave never seen before in a watch strap. The micro carbon fibre pattern is a delicate reflection of our GT style weave, but miniaturised to sit neatly on a wrist strap. The pattern itself is fused to a high quality top grain, chrome-tanned leather, making the straps extra supple for maximum comfort. After the carbon texture is applied, an additional coating reinforces the leather in a patented process which significantly improves the leathers abrasion resistance, allowing our carbon leather to be up to 200 times tougher than an untreated leather. The leather retains its microporous structure, allowing the leather to breath naturally, adding to the comfort. Every aspect of this strap has been thought through to create an elegant and highly technical strap unlike any other.
Why Kickstarter, lads?
You made us and we think it's only fair that Kickstarter gets first dibs on what we come up with next. Your opinion on what we do is incredibly important to us. If you like it, great. If you love it, even better. If you hate it, then we're here to find out.
So, brass tacks: £7,500. What's that for?
We need £7,500 to fulfil our first order of components for the watches. We already have a workshop kitted out to build the watches (from our previous campaign) so we're buying in components and building here in house. The money raised buys us all the leather we require, along with fixings, movements and so on.
Our HistoryWe are a company founded on Kickstarter and would not be here today if it wasn't for people believing in us and our original campaign. We have come a long way in the 12 months since we started and like any humans we have made some mistakes, but we believe in an honest approach to business which is why we are transparent and put you our valued backers first. A little bit about the team if you are interested: Ryan Ward: Co-founder, managing all sales and marketing activities. If you send us an email, you'll likely be in contact with our main man Ryan.
Sean Sykes: Co-founder and engineering mastermind. Fixes most of the problems the designers throw at him, and gets stuck in with helping out Ryan.
James Whitfield: Co-founder, the one in charge and a chartered designer. Spends most of the time hidden from view, managing the boring business stuff, occasionally coming up with a new product idea for Sean to fix and Ryan to find a market for.
So now what do I do? Hit that green button and treat yourself. Your support will lead to the next chapter in a company already built on the generosity of the Kickstarter community. Plus you'll have a watch for bragging rights as well.

Risks and challenges
Our previous campaign required a lot of work to achieve as everything was hand made by a small team. This time, we'll be able to assemble the watches, pack and ship even quicker due to our previous experience and the simpler method of construction.
A year of making our wallets by hand has given us a great deal of experience in working with small parts. Furthermore, as a business, we've already sourced the packaging and determined our fulfilment option. Our first campaign allowed us to open an office which gave us more space for materials, a bigger workshop and the ability to handle an online store and a factory at the same time. We're poised to take on a new product as we have the experience, the space and the drive to make it happen.
The watch is fairly simple by contrast to our previous work. Seriously, we got this.
We've dealt with many backer questions, comments and queries quickly so we're on hand to deal with issues. If you have any queries, you can contact us either via Kickstarter, use the email firstname.lastname@example.org or if you fancy a natter, give us a call on +44 01274 945 910.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
